Title: Season ticket sales
Post by: Saughall Robin on June 01, 2022, 11:01:31 AM
Given that this season will be our first as a fully professional outfit and the club is going from strength to strength with lots of signings announced, I really hope we can match last seasons take up.
It would be nice to see how the numbers are climbing at some point.

We've got ours! 🏆

Come on you (Professional) Supers!

Ballpark last season was around 420 ST sold in total IIRC, I hear we are already well north of that and over the 500 mark already. I’d guess if we go well on this front between now and the start of the season we might sell ooh 650-700. It’s not unfeasible that we’ll be pushing 1000 ST holders within the next 5 years and going FT pans out well IMO.

As a small footnote pleased to add after moving back up last year I’ve gone and bought my first ST since the late 90s. Very fair early bird price I thought.

I'll be buying mine, but when I can get the money together, unable to get for the lower price.

I didn't buy one last season as my dodgy back was likely to keep me away from many games (in the end I missed 5), but this time, since I'm a lot better, I got in quick on the 'earlybird' price.

Season ticket just arrived, and downloaded to my phone.

The message accompanying the digital ticket gives the impression that
it's only temporary till the cards arrive. Given how late the cards came
last season we could be using the digital one for a while. People I know
that watch Premier League have digital tickets on their phone as routine.

As long as they arrive in time for the home friendlies that's fine.
Plenty of time yet.
Hope so because I'm way too old to start learning how to use an app on my ('clockwork') phone!

is there any chance the ground will look like that of a full-time professional outfit when the season starts? the last game i went to was the shaun densmore testimonial and the place was a shambles with only a few hundred in.

Steve, if you go on alternative payment options, you can spread over 3 payments with klarna, interest free for your season ticket.

Getting back to sales, will we be getting an update on numbers to keep our spirits high?
We must be over the 650 mark by now mustn't we?

I would either email the club or give them a ring. I'm sure someone will answer your questions and find a way to take your lolly! 😉

We’ve just bought a couple for next season. Did it online this evening and gave them instructions that we will pick them up from the ground when they arrive.

We also got a Patron membership between us earlier this month.

Think that is us sorted until next May.. unless I get the big one on my premium bonds then I may give em a few quid.

Chester give updates on their season ticket sales (they've just passed the 900 mark). I don't know whether this encourages further sales or not.
Should we consider doing this as opposed to the Chinese whispers approach we currently seem to adopt or not?
Thoughts?

PS. We must be up to 600 now? Anybody heard any 'whispers'? 😂

I bought my season ticket in mid May and I’m number #278.

If you're young enough to get a season ticket, that'll do for me!

PS. You're only a couple of years older than me and I'm only a bit of a kid so you're doing okay 👌.

The club might know directly I guess or say something in due course on one of their official channels. I wouldn't expect here to be the first place to get an exact figure

Maybe at the start of the actual competitive season as part of a big media push for the first league game? Who knows?

What I would say is that we started playing friendlies two days ago, we're just shy of 4 weeks to go before the Maidstone match and I've no doubt that there is a huge amount of work being done behind the scenes at all levels of the club not least with the switch to full time. It they want to make official statements about season ticket sales so far then great but I would get why it isn't a priority with everything else going on that's taking up people's time. Just my view of course, and watch there now be something official coming out...

We don’t consider them too pricey
I suppose it really depends on peoples budget.

Yep we will be at the game on Saturday. Looking forward to it. See you there.

Should I have to?
Or should the club publish it on the website as another piece of (hopefully) good news? I was just asking whether or when this was likely to happen.

Thanks for that reply Bob.
I just thought that seeing as most people (including the chairman) post on here and lots of them have informal contacts at the club - indeed live much closer than we do - this site was a good place to pick up information.

I suppose another thing was I was concerned sales hadn't reached last seasons levels.
If we've set a new record however, I'd have thought it would have been good news worth sharing.

One thing I found on Saturday was at the golf road end those of us with season tickets had to queue with non season ticket holders to get in.

What happened to the dedicated season ticket holders turnstile . Surely it isn’t beyond the wit of man to sort this out.

PS I still haven’t received my grey Patrons card yet.  …. ADMIN

One other point about season tickets.

The ticket has a QR code on it. How come when we show it at the turnstile the person just puts a tick on a bit of scrap paper. No scanning to be seen.

Surely this procedure lends itself to misuse.

Last season your season ticket was actually scanned.

Answers on a postcard .

It happened to us on the Stockport & MUFC & Maidstone. On each occasion I could quite easily passed my S/Ticket through the gap in the main gate for someone else to use if I so desired.

I find it quite frustrating that the season tickets are not scanned, nor are tickets bought in advance. Could quite easily risk showing a previous ticket for a game.

I find it staggering that someone who's willing to pay for a season ticket to support the club would be willing to cheat them out of entry money in that way. I must be more naive than I thought.
Last season I brought the son in law when Mrs S was unable to come along. It never occurred to me to use her season ticket, he paid at the gate.

I don't think using a spare ST is an issue with friends and family, personally, the tickets been paid for.

But if we're not scanning, then people will just buy 1 ticket and share screenshots and that's not okay.

The instances I’m aware of involved circulating a single adult match ticket amongst peers and all displaying it to get into the game. I know of one person who used an outdated match ticket and got in with that. Got to get on top of it, especially now it’s £19 and people are looking to save money.

All forms of tickets need to scanned and rendered as used.
