Reading on the Chester forum about ex Alty player Barry Butler...
Barry is in a nursing home where he continues to suffer from Alzheimer’s. Such a sad affliction on anyone let alone a player i have fond memory's of.

Really sad, my Dad now 86 made him "Man of the Match" when sponsoring a game, and was overjoyed to meet him.
Kingy came over to greet us all, we all trembled as he said "who voted for Barry" ? with a glare ???

Very sad news. I've had first-hand experience of coping with a family member afflicted by Alzheimer's, so I appreciate just how distressing that scenario can be for all the parties concerned.
Barry Butler featured in two memorable FA Cup ties involving Alty: (i) he played in midfield against Spurs at White Hart Lane in January 1995 and (ii) he was Chester City's captain in the Robins' famous FA Cup First Round Replay victory, courtesy of Clive Freeman's piledriver, at Moss Lane in November 1992.
