With the fixtures up on "teletext" and things hopefully back to normal for fans, I am looking forward to the new season. I had been a bit worried and tending towards 18th to 20th at best, but I am starting to feel more optimistic. But how do others feel? Can we improve on last season, or will we struggle in a strong league?

In and around where we were last time I think - perhaps with less fluctuating form now we have a bit more experience in.
-
Keep the main squad injury free and we'll do OK I believe, if we sustain multiple injuries to key players at the same time we'll struggle as last season.
-
If we believe, we will do well.
We have the squad to do well
I believe Parky and Sorv will guide us well
Onwards and upwards

As long as they don't leave us like Virgo's NLP piece suggested could happen. Hopefully it won't, but I suspect there's a few clubs where his name would be mentioned if the position became available.

Poll is now closed, thanks to all who participated.
With the excellent start at Torquay, the 68.5% who think we will at least match last season may now have increased a bit!
With the issues we've faced, I would be happy to match last season, and delighted if we could finish top half for the first time since 1995! Still, we usually struggle late season at this and have not yet completed the transition to full time, so it could be tough, especially as the second season at this level can be more difficult. Fingers crossed our luck holds, we're certainly due some after all those injuries last season!

Looking again at the pre-season poll on where we will finish. Congratulations to the 12 who voted 12th to 14th. (For the record, I went for 15th to 17th - done at the last by Woking not winning!). It is interesting to note that over two thirds of the vote was for lower than we did finish, so I think the season has to rate as a success. I am happy anyway - our best points per game since 1996 (unless you count the Chester City matches in 2009 to 10, a season further complicated by Salisbury being kicked out).
Far too early for a poll for next season, but if the transition to full time goes smoothly, hopefully we can improve again. and we should be better equipped to cope with a challenging financial climate than some clubs.

57.9% of us had the band of two in which we could have finished on the final day of the season, so expectations were generally mmet.

Congratulations to the 12 who voted 12th to 14th.
