Title: Danny Elliott (Chester)
Post by: MarpleAlty on April 13, 2021, 08:47:32 AM
...departs for an as-yet-unnamed National League club.

Couldn't be us rolling the dice again, could it?

If you deduct his hat trick while on loan at Alfreton, he's only scored 8 goals in 43 career games - all of them at a lower level than the National League. I would hope we can do better.

I reckon a Jordon Holme type striker who can hold up the ball would be ideal for Alty who could be good for the likes of Hancock and Colclough .

Is he the answer for next season if we are serious about the play offs?

That's what they think on the Chester forum. They are also doubtful about whether he's NLP standard but they would say that wouldn't they?

Seems to be a good, hard-working professional - only 25 - maybe under a better management team he'd thrive?

Also suggested he might be going to Kings Lynn to replace Marriott, given he's originally from Notts it could be a good shout.

Not sure this is accurate - he's scored 7 in 17 appearances for Chester this season, which isn't the worst return.

The stats ignored this season, since it's void. The goals are still at a lower level.

Too right, if he's back, I'll be delighted. At the end of the day, we're Alty not Chesterfield. People need to be a bit realistic.
