"The decision is not results based, but is centred around culture" according to County's official statement. It reads rather as if he's done something "politically incorrect", and if that isn't the case they could have worded it better.

My County supporting workmate was expecting their new ownership to bring in their own man, but it's certainly an odd statement.

I imagine John Askey will be favourite to get the job as he is available, having just left Port Vale.

Quite a number of the locals seem to think that the Cowley brothers are being lined up.

I think they must have a 'name' lined up to seemingly concoct the departure of the much loved JG.

Just to clarify, are you suggesting Wrexham or the Cowleys should be in Holloway? 🤔😄😄😂

That's a bit harsh on Ian.

According to JL and the County Forum, it's the U23 coach from Brighton.
Also speculation that Mark McGhee coming in as an 'old head' as number two.

Does seem like a bit of a gamble, that - first team football is a very different proposition to U23s/youth football.

Someone on their forum did say they'd rather they had the up and coming manager at Alty...
