Title: Byron Harrison
Post by: oneedham on December 05, 2020, 05:36:11 PM
Reads as if we have signed him on a short term deal.

Never heard of him.

Good luck Byron.

From Rob Esteva's programme notes for today's postponed fixture:

"We have brought in experienced forward Byron Harrison this week on a short-term deal. Byron made 29 appearances for Barrow last season, and he has enjoyed a strong career in the EFL.

He is nursing a slight calf problem which is likely to prevent him featuring against King’s Lynn this afternoon, but he will add to the competition for places in attack for the busy schedule ahead of us."

From John Laidlar's website:

ALTY SIGN STRIKER

According to Director of Football, Rob Esteva, on the Altrincham FC website, the club has signed Barrow forward Byron Harrison on a short-term deal.

He made 29 appearances for the Cumbrians last season, without scoring, after an earlier spell there from 2016-18 had seen him make 56 appaearances and score 27 times.

Other clubs for which he has played include loan spells with Sutton United and Stevenage.

It’s good to see that, unlike Jordan Hulme, the lad doesn’t get many yellow cards.

Sadly, unlike Jordan Hulme, he also doesn’t get many goals. At least he’ll be competition for Adarabioyo.

i'd be happy if he was just good at holding the ball up. a lot of jordan's forward play allowed hancock and others to score.

Agreed. The ball just seems to bounce off Ceesay's shins all the time when he plays up top. If we had a player who could hold it up and develop play as well as dcoring goals we would be a scary proposition!

Was Adarabioyo rested for last Tuesday evening's fixture at Wrexham or was he injured?

In fact, is he even still with us?

He has an ankle sprain & is expected to be out for a further 1-2 weeks.

Albeit Ceesay also couldn't hold the ball up we looked much better than when Fis plays. Ceesay still worried them which opened up some yards around him. As harsh as it sounds, I hope Fis is released.

I've not even seen him play but I'm going to become Fis' advocate on principle. You always have one player you mercilessly critique!  ;D

Byron's still injured with a calf problem & there will be an update during the week on the likelihood of him being available for next Saturday.

Thanks for the info Brian. That's good.
Perhaps, if he is fit and Ryan isn't, the trophy game will be a chance to move Ceesay wide and give him a run out up front?
