Title: Boreham Wood Match Thread
Post by: robininstockport on November 19, 2020, 09:45:01 AM
Although they have a game in hand both on 9 points.
Despite our very big price (17/4 last time I looked) this is a very winnable game.

Same starting 11 as tuesday and get on the front foot from the off.

Boreham Wood 0-1 Alty (Kosylo)

Agree, go with same XI as last time out... even if couple of the injured players are near fitness no point risking them - best make sure defo fit before adding back to squad...

Hence, reckon same starting team & hopefully another win...
I'll go for a 2-1 away victory (Kosylo & Hancock)...

I'd be tempted to bring Sutton back into the starting XI if I were Phil. BW are a physically powerful and experienced team, so I think that an extra 'old' head wouldn't do us any harm. Would obviously take a draw now.

They have conceeded just six goals, and scored one fewer than us. Our performances are on the up, a settled team is appearing after injuries and players drafted in.

This should be a draw. We won't lose it!

I'd bring back Senior and Sutton in.

Wonder if they'll be an injury update tomorrow to see if any of the injured are nearing fitness... know before last game we were advised Sutton & White were back in contention and Sutton made the bench...

Guess no point risking players with so many games coming up over next few Tuesdays & Saturdays... however would be good to have an injury update from the club with so many out...

Sutton came on for Dales in the 92nd minute on Tuesday, so should be fit to play some part on Saturday.

Happy to get a draw here tomorrow but wouldn’t be surprised if we grabbed all three.

Haven’t decided if I will pay for the stream particularly as their big time Charlie attitude won’t let RR broadcast, from within the ground. I’m not into clubs with sh*tty attitudes, there is enough of those type of clubs higher up the football echelon.

Going to be route one hoofball tomorrow therefore experience at the back is essential.
Also, expect lots of niggle so our midfielders need to beware of getting involved and distracted.
If we avoid getting sucked into their preferred game plan then we can get something there.
Best of luck lads. As always, we're all right behind you!
Come on you Supers! 🏆 🥇

Get in there.

Very good performance.

Defence was solid. TT kicking was much better.

Moult had his best game of the season. Smith looked class in parts.

Kosylo work rate is unbelievable.
Hancock growing more confident and great to see Ceesay back.

Fis is still absolutely awful. Didn't control one ball and his movement is non existent but hopefully McDonald has earnt his start. McDonald stretched them when he came on and controlled the ball to feet.

Second half we dominated possession. Hopefully we can go on a run as players begin to return from injury.

Buzzing with that.

...and McDonald got his first goal, right place, right time, do his confidence no end of good. Well done to the whole team.

That was a great win.

As I said when he signed, McDonald might not be the answer but he seems to be right place right time for the BT Sports cup final.

A goal Damian Reeves would have scored today.

Proper Parkinson football in the last two games.

Loved how we had our full backs higher up today. Think PP has realised the standard isn't to be in fear of.

So so pleased with a win away to a decent team in what didn't sound like a great match. So glad too that James Mcdonald scored. It looks like Parky has got all his loan signings bob on. COYR

I think Alistair Smith is absolute class, no coincidence that we have started playing since he came into the team in my opinion. Great Signing.

I like Alistair Smith, too.
For two games running, we have finished strongly with a late goal against a full-time team, which is a tribute to our fitness, if nothing else.

Watched the game, weird no commentary at the beginning, but overall not too bad a stream.

Football wise we got better as the game went on and deserved our victory. I thought everyone gave 100% and worked for each other. Thommo never had a save to make.. Good defending.

Hancock is getting better and settling down. Kosylo gets everywhere and great feed for the goal. MacDonald poaching there off Ceesay.

Fantastic deserved result against full time opposition.
