As a break from all the injury woes & present team predictions, how about listing your favourite Alty Team from players you have actually seen play...
Hence, not the Greatest Alty XI (which may include players you have not seen play eg legendary striker Jackie Swindells was before my time) but ONLY players you seen wear the Alty kit...

We always played better with Carmo in the team. My sort of player, and a decent bloke as well. Can I count Heathcote, as I saw him put a good few balls over in training? Kingy is definitely the best player I've played against (which happened in a staff v fans game).

Some great players listed so far... and great to see the modern & older stars both recognised... always ace trying to pick your best/fav teams, no matter the sport/club; as all about personal opinions & differing viewpoints/eras...

My favourite Alty footballer must be Jeff Johnson...
Played between 1976 - 1988 (though last couple years rarely played due to injury)... over 500Alty apps, scored 141goals...
Started as striker, then midfielder, before ending career in defence... was part of many memorably successful years...
Played in 3 Wembley FA Trophy Finals for Alty (winning two in 1978 & 86)... won two APL (now Conference National Lge) league titles in 1980 & 1981 - winning League & APL League Cup double in 1981... also represented England Semi Professional team in early 1980s winning 18 caps...
Favourite memory is equaliser v Ossie Ardilles Spurs side away at White Hart Lane in 1979 in FA Cup 3rd round which resulted in 1-1 draw (replay at Maine Road which Alty lost)...
Great player, from a great era of success - probably my favourite Alty player of all time that i have seen play (never saw Jackie Swindells play - before my time)...
More recently enjoyed briefly seeing Duncan Watmore in Alty shirt plus Damian Reeves (particularly in his early seasons)...
