What do you locals in Alty rate the chances of the game being on this Saturday ?

I saw the weather forecast for the weekend tonight, looks like heavy rain the rest of this week and Saturday, so may be some doubt. They will have to call the game off early too to prevent KL Town from travelling. I hope it isn't, because I think it will be a superb match. The only day when it is drier is tomorrow.

Really hope we can get it on from a selfish perspective as London Alty are one of the match sponsors-obviously if it’s off and on for a Tuesday instead then it’s a non-starter for us sponsoring the game and of course the club loses hundreds off the gate & in match day income more generally. Need those covers on next few days I suspect.

They travelled in good loud numbers tonight kings lynn, and were quite excitable. I would hope and expect Saturdays game to be segregated. They are beatable but we cannot be as wayward with our passing as we have been in the last two games or they will punish us. Thought they looked a better passing team than at their place on a proper surface tonight.

Irrespective of last night, KL are in my view, the best team I have seen this season (with Boston a close second). They will be tough, very tough, but I think Chester have done us a massive favour, as they will come to ML both weary and with their confidence eroded. We must get at them from the off, for they have the most dangerous strikeforce in the league and they will score.

Really looking forward to this game to see hopefully 2 good footballing teams going at it. Attack is our best form of defence.

Pitch wise, the forecast is improving, Rain should mostly dry out from 9am on Saturday, so good prospects.

Come on Alty.

Biggest game since Johnson left

Only possible change to starting 11 would be Durrell for mahon.

Looking for it

I also think they'll score more than once, so I'll go 3-2 to us  ;D

In all honesty, we were more than a match for them in Lynn and more than deserved our injury time equaliser.

Kings Lynn have now lost two games on the run, and without Gash and Marriott scoring. That's a definite wobble. Always on the cards that they were going to have a spell like this given the run they've had. Remember how Chorley appeared all conquering last season and threw it away? Could happen to Kings Lynn and still time for any one of the chasing pack to catch them. Boston look strong given their run but perhaps they are due a blip now.

Kings Lynn score a lot of goals. They have only gone two away league this season without scoring, and one of those was the opening day. They also let in a lot. This game is between the two teams with the best scoring and worst goals conceded records of the teams currently in the play-off places (if you ignore the differences in games played).

Altrincham need to score with every clear chance available because Kings Lynn will probably score twice. If we get a pen it's got to go in this time.

0-0

1652 with 200 still outside at kick-off time.

If the pitch covers aren't used there's a good chance the game will be off with a waterlogged pitch.

If the game does go ahead we could do with starting the first half at or near our best, not being appalling in the first half and waiting for a HT rocket up the kyber to start playing well!

Agreed. My assumption would be 0900 pitch inspection Saturday morning to prevent Kings Lynn from travelling unnecessarily if it is off. However, in advance of that a general update on the state of the pitch and how optimistic we are would be good. As long as it comes out before we have to get on the train at Euston on Saturday morning (sorry Chris, know that’s no good for you flying!)

That is very good if we have purchased these. Why haven't the club given us any update? Or are we just trailing them. Even way an update would be appreciated.

They’re the ones that are sat behind the goals I think they’ve only been deployed once. Pitch looked ok earlier when I went past. No standing  water. It’ll be the troublesome corner if anything. Let’s wait and see what is said

Thanks for that. Sounds promising at least, but would be good to hear an official line from the club wrt to proposed pitch inspection, time, etc (or indeed if they are just totally confident it will go ahead).
