John "JJ" Johnston is, in my opinion, a traitor and a member of the rebel alliance. He's no better than Joel Bembo-Leta and ought to be confined to a gulag for the next 40 years. That's my two cents.

Weren't the Rebel Alliance meant to be the good guys?

Who, then, is Altys Jabba the Hutt?

There are quite a few available :

Michael Twiss
Darren Royle
Ian Tunnicliffe

Or From another perspective John Parkin / Mcnulty / Steve Evans

Surely Jabba the Hut would have to be Kyle Perry at his widest.  Given that it is established that the Jedi are the bad guys from our perspective, then Kingy in his terrifying prime would have to be Darth Vader.  The late, great Mal Bailey at his hairiest would be a great Chewbacca.  Chris Senior for R2D2 or maybe Yoda.  This is all a bit confused!

Kingy was Darth Vader before Star Wars was released.

Who isn't good enough.

Makes me laugh as I would say 99% of people would have taken that deal if you were JJ. I am gutted but a grand a week for 52 weeks with a young family. Unfortunately this will always happen in non league.

Agreed. Gutted he's gone, was my favourite player, but good luck to him.

If he went for £100 more than I understand him getting stick but as PP said, they couldn't get near what Chester offered JJ.
I still found myself singing the songs though 😬

£52k pa. Course he went. How many years has he got when he can pull in that sort of bread?

That's outrageous, Princess Leia was a courageous and selfless space age warrior leader and role model for strong women everywhere!

Dawber meanwhile was last reported to be at Charnock Richard - a suburb of Chorley - in the North West Counties league - but doesn't appear to have played a game of competitive football since he played for us.   ;)

JJ was a cracking player for us, who entertained and put his heart into every game he played for us.  Not happy with the songs against him today - agree Back Roads - any one of us would take the money if raising a young family and quite right too.  Does every player who ever moves onto another club have to be branded Judas? Rather than showing a bit of appreciation for the contribution they have made - and JJ made a huge contribution to the revival of the club these last 3 seasons. Its either irony or it isn't very classy

He definitely played a handful of games for Charnock but appears to have dropped out of the game. He was at Fulham the season before signing for us! Other early retirees from the Neil Young reign of terror include fellow goalkeeper Callum Preston, the initially promising Sam Patterson and one time Southport prospect Charlie Joyce.

Parkinson put an arm around him, and made him to the player he was. He's dropped him for some cash. He's left the players who've put him in the shop window.

We've got from up 1 level. He's hardly carried us.
If you don't like the songs, sing some others.

There was nothing competitive about him when he DID play for us !

Chester are   hybrid this season so not  strictly full time although a 52 week  contract on 1k  week does sound very good especially if someone has another job .

JJ is not worth £1000 per week (or perhaps even half that much) but we do have a player that is who they desperately want.  JJ is a Stool Pigeon.  The deal with JJ was set up to draw another into their net.  I just hope that the bait isn't taken.

As much as JJ is a great conference winger, you probably need to think bigger picture if you're going to break transfer records for him.
I agree about Hulme, but sends a message wider that we're able to come and take your players, whenever we want.

Playing on the line between keeping in touch with an ex-colleague and 'tapping up'.

"A milder form of "tapping up" involves a manager's letting his admiration for a player at another club become known, perhaps by hinting at his interest while working as a pundit during the broadcast of a game in which the player is taking part, "he's the sort of player any manager would be very keen to sign", or by lavishing praise in programme notes when the two teams meet. There are also the "source close to the manager"-type newspaper rumours which in many case originate within the club and are intended to flag an interest while retaining plausible deniability against charges of tapping up."

Encouragingly, Bill & Ben have admitted that 'no progress has been made since signing JJ'.

And we all know they'd tell us if there had been.
