Yep, massive game as they all are now. Unfortunately my last home game of the season unless we get a game at home in the playoffs.

So come on you Robins lets get those 3 points up for grabs.

Drench still not fit ?

This really is an important fixture, a win here will really boost our chances of avoiding the extra playoff game and probably end Kidderminsters play off hunt. Hopefully a decent turn out after such a long layoff and an important game.
It’s like we’ve had our own winter break prior to the final push. Hopefully everyone is fit, rested and ready to go.

I'd put him in if he is, but PP has no real reason to drop Thompson at the moment, so it won't happen.

Agreed.

Hopefully Ceesay and Hampson are fully fit now.

Massive massive fixture after 3 weeks without a game.
I'm a bit worried that we may have lost the match fitness edge.
We need to win this then kick on ...
Hope the crowd is a big one . Weather set fair, no reason not to attend.
Pitch will be in excellent nick..

Alty 3-1 Kiddy.
Att 1376. 100 Kiddy fans..
Cmon you Robins....

That'll be 0-0 then...

"The supporters of Altrincham and Kidderminster Harriers, whose teams meet today at the J. Davidson Stadium, have witnessed 112 and 113 goals respectively in the league this season. For Alty supporters their team's 112 goals (F65 A47) have arrived in 34 fixtures, and that tally makes them the leading team in the top half of the division as regards goal-aggregate, with 3.29 goals (for and against) per game.
Their visitors, Kidderminster Harriers' 113 aggregate goals (F59 A54) have required 36 matches. In the top half of the division, only Bradford (Park Avenue) supporters have seen more goals, 116 (F66 A50) in 36 matches, a slightly lower ratio of goals (3.22 per game) than Alty's figure.
So, if it's goals that you want, the J. Davidson Stadium should be the place to be this afternoon when the Robins meet the Harriers!"

No segregation. Beggars belief to me. Do wonder what the players and management would rather have

Unbelievable that today isn't segregated.

Let's hope the smoky fire on the allotments has fizzled out by kick-off time.

Just on way back now.  Good first half but we were hanging on most of the second half.   Looked a bit like a team who hadn’t played in a couple of weeks second half.   A bit lucky to get all 3 points but we’ll take ‘em!

Great result. Hanging on for the whole of the second half but did it well enough.

Even better everyone above us has dropped points.

Great battle.

They were much better, especially second half. The best footballing side I have seen us play this season with Spennymoor ( home ) a close second.

Bringing Chadwick on out wide was an error. They were having joy out wide and he is nowhere near fit enough for that role. He is only a number 9.

Dolan would have been a wiser choice. At least PP recognised it and switched him to left and brought Dens on to double up with White on their dangerous side.

They have some very good players and wouldn't fancy them in the playoffs.

I think we need to keep Ceesay on for the 90 mins. Even when he begins to tire he is still dangerous. At one point he had four men on him. I just think taking him off means we sit back.

Hannigan was immense yet again. I rate Hampson but he isn't on his game at the moment.

I thought it was a game for Harrop in that midfield as we gave them far too much room at times. Williams did get better but was very slow at closing down in the first half.

Anyway great battle and a vital 3 points.Great passion shown and top atmosphere again.

Shocking choice of mascot.

Wow....we hung on there. For those who didn't go and are reading this, you may see the 2-1 result and think we were the better team and won the game.
That wasn't the case, we never got on the ball in the seond half, I think the concerning point was we had Richman, Moult and Williams in midfield in the second half but we were just over run, we couldn't put two passes together.
In the first half we were getting the ball wide and getting in behind them, in the second half the wingers just didn't get on the ball, I was not surprised with the substitutions. I though PP was trying to give us more energy in midfield as he could see we were being over run.
Whether this was a lack of match fitness, not having played for a few weeks, or maybe Kidderminster were just the better team. They had some really decent players, their number 3 caught the eye pressing forward on the left.
A good result, a performance to worry the management, but 3 points nearer the play off goal and some of the other results going in our favour.

Going 2 up was flattering but they didnt really threaten till the Thompson  faux par.

The back four were superb as was Williams.

The fact 3 of the front 4 got subbed says it all.

Winning ugly is ok now till end of season

Not an easy watch in the second half. We could have actually put the game to bed in the first half of the first half.

I would have put Chadwick up front with Jordon, at the end of the day he is a striker.

This game was very similar to the fixture at Aggborough in reverse

I think the lack of competitive game time did us no favours.
At the end of the day it was a valuable 3 pts.
Alfreton up next. Let the winning habit continue..

Not sure about Ceesay, lots of huff and puff but we need an end product. He could come good given time I suppose.

Ceesay causes loads of problems. I really rate him.

They at least double up on him so he drags players towards him which is only a good thing if we get the right pass in.

The deadline for signing players was Thursday.

I thought Ceesay was deadful

The deadline for signing players was Thursday.

I thought Ceesay was deadful

He had two decent runs first half.

Wasn't a great game for him but they were concerned by him and defended in numbers.

We were shocking when Chadwick came on. I know he is a decent striker but he was lost out wide. They walked past him.

I couldn't understand why Ceesay was desperate to get the ball but when Tony hoofed it to him he didn't make any attempt to head it. Their defender got a free header every time. Very strange. Chadwick looked to be lacking mobility to me.

We'll take the three points, we will play better and lose as we have done this season already. But after a three week layoff against a full time team we must be happy. Dogged defending and thought TT was excellent today. Thought we tired second half and agree Chadwick should have gone up top. He is a long way from match fit and sure will improve.

Well done for winning ugly, especially in the second half.

We got away with one today. Rusty is a kind word for the overall performance. On the evidence of the two games we've played with them Kiddy are as good a side as I've seen going forward - defensively there are better outfits, which is why they'll probably miss out on the play-off circus. It will be interesting to see in due course on the excellent Alty TV how our second goal went in - from 100+ yards away I can advance no worthwhile opinion but have a feeling there must have been some form of deflection involved - and just where their header hit the floor when it came down from the crossbar (from close range, but head on to events rather than side on, I had a horrible feeling it may have bounced behind the line, but the assistant seemed to be pretty much in line & clearly didn't give a goal, so I'll back his judgement!). Hannigan stood out for me in defence once again; I remain unconvinced by Paulo Wanchope (aka Ceesay - that's one for the fairly long in the tooth to mull over!); and Chadwick is on past evidence essentially a goal-poacher & striker, so playing wide right wasn't going to be an advantage for him. Interesting that Densmore came on for the final minutes - first time I can recall this management putting an extra defensive player on specifically to preserve a lead; a sign of realism for me. All the same, three very valuable points and perhaps proof if it were needed that fortune does tend to even itself out over a season.

We started off very well, went off like a rocket and deserved the 2 goal lead (if not better).
Second half we hardly had possession.
Lucky to get the 3 points really, but will take that after 3 week lay off.
We'll need to get back up to sharpness in the next few weeks, obviously.

Well done lads on the 3 points!

Evened out over the two games for me. We deserved a point at their place, they deserved one today. The result is that both clubs are a point better off overall.

Very much a results business at this end of the season and as others have said it’s evened itself out over the two games. If we remain unbeaten for our next nine football matches we will be back where we belong.
