Get their keeper. I know he is getting on a bit but he's better than what we have.

Would have Drench here like a shot.

Drench seems past his best but still better than Thompson.

Clee would very much enjoy this team compared to his second spell with us.

Worth a punt if free and if fit would be perfect for left wing or even No.10 if Hancock wasn't available. Just depends if he has the legs still.....

We had the best out of  Clee wouldn't want him back ...

Very true but even a slightly past it Clee would be decent.

Keeper and no.9 should be the priority.

I think heads are ruling over hearts, I'd steer clear of Clee - wonderful servant for us but I don't think he'd be the answer.

If anything, given our more recent woes I wouldn't be averse to taking Luca back.

Their top scorer, Jake Beesley, is on a season-long loan from Salford - I wonder if they have the power to cut it short and send him here?

Speaking of another Jake, Stalybridge have a young goalkeeper called Jake Turner on loan from Bolton, who is out of contract at the end of the season. He's highly-rated and ex England U18, but then again hadn't Dawber been capped?  ???

Just watched the highlights.

We desperately need a keeper. Our defence was awful but it clear they have no confidence in him collecting crosses. He can hardly jump because of his build.

PP has been far too stubborn with him. What is going on???? Must hold a very dark secret over PP because he surely isn't in that team for his performances.

He’s no longer at Stalybridge, been recalled by Bolton. Much as I like Nicky Clee, I don’t think he would be the answer for us, I think he is definitely past his best...but Drench would be an upgrade, if we are not to give Elliot an extended run. I feel Elliot has been  badly done by ...dropped for a couple of errors at Kiddy when TT has made many more errors before and since, yet seems to be undroppable.

No Dawber hadn't been capped. You must have misheard someone who said he'd been crap (in practically every game he played). I note that he's not even at Charnock Richard now. I wouldn't put him in a Sunday team - made Thompson look quality.

I have many very happy memories of Clee but bringing him back would be a backward step and a return to some bad habits. We need to look forward and outward.

Thinking back, I'm sure Drench is a Manchester lad. Would be a very welcome addition.

According to Wikipedia he was indeed born in Manchester (11.9.1985). Where he is based now I don't know - if he's settled over the other side of the hill he may not wish to travel west. Equally, he might be happy to stay at BPA in any event. It's worth an enquiry, certainly, but I join with those who feel Ellliot Wynne should be given a run in the first XI. Since that game at Kiddy I've only seen him play the once - v Stockport in the Trophy - & for my money he did nothing wrong that day. Watching Tony Thompson at close quarters, as I have done at a number of recent home games gives me palpitations on a regular basis, to be perfectly honest!

I'd have Luca Havern back. Need some more experience in that back line.

I don't think Luca was any worse than anyone else at the time (Moult and Richman included), there's a reason he starts for a team that have been in the higher reaches of the league.

On the evidence of his performances against us this season, he's gone backwards. I wouldn't take him.

While I always liked Luca, with 3 quality centre backs, he's not really what we need. A goalkeeper and another striking option would be good.

Only 209 appearances in 10 seasons before this one gives you a clue....
