Areas of concern that would have Beem covered by the pitch covers put on by volunteers if we weren’t such an autocratic set up?

Their is part of me that would rather the game was postponed than play on a muddy/slippy surface.
The new covers are somewhat a mystery as to when they can/should be used.

All answers on the back of a cover please.

Forecast gets worse later on today. In a way I hope they call it off in case the snow arrives in the evening as presaged & makes return travel difficult. On the point re pitch covers, if someone could actually tell us in plain English when they can & can't be used we might find the situation easier to comprehend. At the moment comments like "letting the pitch breathe" mean little to those of us without 'green fingers'.

If you leave covers on too long the grass will die off. If you put them on wet ground that isn't draining too well the water can't evaporate off. Accrington got in a mess a few years back by covering their pitch too much and it getting a lot worse that it might have been.

As we have all chipped in to buy these covers it would be nice to be told whether they are actually being used today. I would have hoped that in view of the overnight forecast they were put on yesterday. However I do realise they don't cover the whole pitch, and it wouldn't just be the worst affected areas that got rained on.
