Title: 40 years ago!
Post by: PaulClementsLaments on April 28, 2018, 10:50:12 AM: Tomorrow - our first, and best, visit to Wembley to win the FA Trophy against Leatherhead. Still my favourite Alty day of all time despite so many blinders since. Can't believe its 40 years though...

Best Alty team ever in my opinion that I have witnessed with Johnson, Rogers and King netting the goals.

I think PP taking us to the new Wembley would just about equal it....assuming we won.

We KNEW we were going to win V Leatherhead....

Big Bill and Brian with my dad and six kids in a ford Granada estate racing down the M1...us kids waving out the back windown at lorry drivers etc.....

We score and my dad jumps up and his 100s of credit cards shower out of his pocket over the seats in front.....we'd just collected them all up when we score again..... ;D ;D ;D

A very very special day.....I hope we get to the new Wembley soon so the new generation who missed this will experience it.

Hit the bar with a powerful shot just before half time. I can still hear the CLANG! sound of the metal crossbar echoing around the empty part of the stadium 😁
