Title: Liam Hardy
Post by: oneedham on October 21, 2017, 09:34:12 PM
I think it has been discussed but can't recall whether anyone had confirmed whether we know if Liam Hardy is on a contract at Buxton?
I really like Jordan Hulme, his work rate is first class but we are still missing a natural goalscorer and Hardy is at peak striker age.
Seems to read he was bought by Darlington from Buxton and possibly loaned back to them?

Thought it was performance of great character today.
I just think PP needs to make a big call - we are one option b striker short.
We could only replace like for like with 2 wingers when we were chasing the win late on.
I really think we lack a more direct option b with a target striker off bench.
In the winter conditions we need to be more effective playing direct late in games.
Too much over playing to feet in final third. Not enough pressure on keeper and back 4.
This title is there to be won but i think we are an option b striker short.
Carpe diem pp!!

I agree, I also liked the look of Lee Shaw when we played Grantham but I guess the travelling would be too much for him.

We've got another striker on the books but he's spent the whole season so far either ill or injured.

Yeah Lee Shaw is a good player but travelling would be an issue on a part time wage. Unfortunately I don't feel Amis is our plan B.
Peers is a good squad player, solid, works hard and has got a good shot on him but not prolific.
Just missing a keeper, natural left back cover, box to box mid if Richman misses any games and prolific striker. However football is never an ideal world. There are a 2 or 3 I would release if they are willing to terminate their contracts mutually.

And another who scored the winning penalty last Tuesday, but currently makes Kyle Perry look streamlined.

Where does Mason Walsh fit into the scheme of things ?

Also, Hardy lives around the Doncaster area as far as I'm aware.

If that is correct, I think that he is likely to stay where he is, as Buxton train in Doncaster.

The manager & quite a few of the players, Greg Young being one, are Doncaster based.I don't think that many of the players are from the Buxton area.

Barrow used to do a similar thing, I think, training in Manchester when they had a lot of players based around there.
