Title: Northern Premier League 2017/18 - Odds
Post by: andrewflynn on July 16, 2017, 01:34:14 PM
Betway:

Stourbridge 5/1
Nantwich Town 7/1
Workington 7/1
Lancaster 8/1
Altrincham 10/1
Shaw Lane 11/1
Ashton United 12/1
Buxton 14/1
Stafford Rangers 14/1
Whitby Town 14/1
Witton Albion 14/1
Grantham Town 20/1

25/1 and higher for the rest of the league.

Worth a punt? Definitely didn't expect us to be double figures.

Stalybridge are 25/1. Could sneak top three and pay a decent each way price.

Worth a fiver at 10/1 ,Dont Nantwich have players like that Boris Melingui  playing for them? doubt he would get near our current squad .

Will be down the bookies tomorrow. If I can get those odds, will be having £23 on to pay for two pensioner season tickets for next year!  :D ;) (and a couple of bottles of red from the return of the stake money!!!! ::)

Doesn't Alan Alger work for Betway? He is usually clueless about Non-League Football.

Betway appear to be the only ones offering odds at the depth we've plummeted to.

They tend to pay lip service to league like ours as the stakes are so low, always a good chance for people with even a small amount of knowledge to make some money.

Nantwich at 7/1 second favourites for example will purely based on the fact that they went close last year and had a decent season.  The fact that every part of the management team is now here and most of their decent players are here or at Salford/Southport excluding the new managers son will have passed them by.

I'd expect quite a few to back us though if talk on Twitter is anything to go by so that price will come in soon as they will sit up if some big bets start to come in...

The bookies have dangled a carrot because we are the only team with fans besides I'm not sure why Alty fans would be clued up at a level they've never been at,also you got a team who only won 5 games last season you can't really have them in single figures to start

Apart from the National Lottery, I don't gamble myself, but I see that even at this early stage, Billericay Town are literally odds-on favourites to win the Bostik Isthmian League. Their owner/manager, who is a sort of Cockney Donald Trump, based on his character, has been splashing the cash and shouting very loudly about it for a few months, although they missed out on promotion last season.

What could possibly go wrong, I wonder, but 10/11 could be the shortest odds pre-season when a phoenix club is not involved.

Ah yes, deep in the bowels, thanks. Still 7-1...Shaw Lane at 12's looks tempting as an EW......I don't understand why Nantwich are only 10-1 either

Let's be realistic we don't want a Billericay.

To answer your question we'd sink to our natural level so a double promotion!!!!!! There's an ironic truth for GR in there somewhere...

Altrincham 10/1
Shaw Lane 11/1

Anyone in line for a nice little earner in the next week then? Though I know that 10/1 wasn’t available for long. Looking back at those prices just goes to show how little the bookies know about this level.

My wife and I both staked significant amounts on us being outright winners at 7/1. Hopefully it'll pay for the summer holiday (if all goes to plan). After the preseason friendly at Rhyl, I just thought sod it. I'd never bet in my life. Won the National yesterday too lol

I've had £10 ew and then a further £5 ew both back in jul. Both @ 7/1

That will make a good fortnight as I had the winner of the Masters last week and Tiger Roll in the National yesterday

£10 each way for me at 7/1.

Not that I didn't have full faith in Parky and the troops but I was very worried about Shaw Lanes experience.

I also put £5 e/w on Stalybridge.  I actually quite like it sat there on my bets screen, it's a reminder of what can happen to teams.

I intend to spend a lot of it after the Hednesford game on secretly potent ale I haven't heard of that smells of wet dogs.
