No great shock but a full statement from Damian on the OS

That's actually made me really sad and almost a bit tearful. How can we have allowed a genuine legend if the club be treated so poorly and castigated most recently by an inexperienced non-legend ex player? The guy genuinely loves the club, he wouldn't be mentioning his family if he didn't. These really are dark times we've been through and I only hope they're coming to an end.
To Reevesy: Top top man who has given us all loads of good memories. LEGEND!
-
A classy statement by Reevesy, he was not compelled to do that but it sums up his character and passion for the Club. It shows what a genuine guy he is, I hope he finds a new home that matches his ambition and ability.
Good luck mate, you will be missed big time.

Should be invited back and given a testimonial.... As should England's No 1....
Reeves X1 v Coburn X1
-
just wonder if he had been given more starts,if he would have stayed and if the club would have been in this position. It always seemed mad to me not to start your top goalscorer
-
Devastated he has gone he has been amazing
His money no doubt will free up significant budget for the new gaffer
When people like wally Reeves Coburn and little move on they leave a huge gap that is very difficult to fill

We are no nearer replacing Stuart than we were on day one. No reliable consistent keeper always leaves the defence in doubt.
Good luck to Reevesy.
-
Reevesy twice topped 40 goals in a season. Those who have followed him would mostly struggle to score 40 in their entire career.

Between them ....

I notice Jon Worsnop has left BPA because "he can't commit to travelling from Cheshire". We could do a lot worse.
-
Hakan Burton, a decent keeper, out of favour at Curzon at the end of the season.
-
Agree re the Jon Worsnop one, not sure of Curzon's keeper after he conceded 3 against us!!

Burton was sub keeper (unused) on Good Friday. He did, on the other hand, play at our place in August & concede two. I would be reasonably happy with Worsnop in goal provided he gets some practice against shots from the left from about ten yards inside his half - think back to the home game with Chester & Nicky Clee's effort ...

I understood that Steven Drench was a Manchester lad. Quality keeper who was on the bench last I knew.

Born in Manchester, 11th Sept 1985.
-
Steve Drench great keeper
-
Top quality.
-
A fit and available goalkeeper would be a good starting point....
-
Not sure Drench has played as low as Evostik before. He's be a terrific signing, but more likely to land up in Conference North i'm afraid.

probably true but a sign of our intent if we managed to get a keeper of his quality and experience. The defensive carnage of last season must not happen again.
-
Nantwich Cooke - in the evostick players of the year twice, nantwich top scorer ?
-
maybe watch this space, here's hoping!
-
Cooke and White possibly.
-
Word on the street is that we should be expecting a few Nantwich players to come here.

You don't have to be Poirot to reach that conclusion, really. ;)

By the sounds of what's being said on the Salford forum, Jay Lynch, their keeper for the last couple of seasons or so, isn't going full-time. From what I've seen of him on their match highlights we could do a lot worse than trying to get him in.

Yeah, I was being slightly facetious :D

The stats on the website show that every time Reeves was out on the bench more than 8 times we got relegated (3 seasons out of 3)
Well done all the f**king idiots responsible for that. Particularly this season when we were a bag of sh*t. No one got into double figures but at least Hobson, Hattersley and Owens held the ball up and worked hard (just like Twiss)
For f**ks sake!

Exactly. It says everything about our management teams. Fekking clueless.
At least PP wont be able to make this error.
