10 of them I believe. What an embarrassment, did they do a tombola at the end too? This is the man that wants us to back him to restore the club's fortunes.

And? What's your point. So did Jonny Keen, but I don't think he's qualified to be chairman (no offence Jonny)

I've walked up the two highest peaks in Britain. I'd still tender my resignation after such a disastrous 18 months as the head of a football club though to be fair. Well done to those that took part, but it's a little bigger than who's partaking in a fundraiser for me mate.

On a serious note well done to all that walked there

We will be able to walk to a large number of games next season as well

I think this is completely irrelevant.

Take personalities out of it. No chairman or manager who has overseen the relegation of a club to its lowest ever level, a second consecutive relegation, should reasonably expect to carry on in that position.

It is with some regret that I feel both should fall on their swords and there is no time like the present.

The title of this thread and the outcome of the result today, sums up the worst f**king week of my life..
I haven't been to watch Alty since early December, however, I do intend to return to my spot on the popular side next Saturday v Brackley.

Lets hope for the right people to be recruited to replace the ones who need to go.... You Know who you are ....

More fans paid to go to a match and leave after 15 minutes than people willing to walk with the chairman for free entry and a fundraiser. Says a lot to be honest.

This walk is irrelevant. Yet another display of ignorance from the crowd who believe there is nothing wrong at the club.

If a business had endured the following in the space of 12 months..

Collapse in industry reputation
Loss of a significant number of customers
Abnormally high turnover in management

then the Chairman of that business would be gone, finished. Yet here we are with a Chairman who refuses to budge and insists that the future depends on an increasingly shrinking and alienated customer base uniting behind him. It is a surreal and disgraceful situation.

We keep hearing that mistakes have been made and that we need to move on. But it has been mistake after mistake and the consequences, both directly and indirectly, have been a total disaster for this club. As others have quite rightly said, there needs to be accountability.

I have read many long and well thought out reasons for why Mr Rowley should resign as Chairman; I am yet to read anything of substance to suggest he should stay. Being a grafter, doing sponsored walks, pulling pints at half time are all creditable things, but they do not come under the remit of Chairman.

This situation cannot continue. Mr Rowley, thank you for your hard work, and your commitment to the club cannot be questioned, but please do the honourable thing and resign.

GR won't resign. He's too bloody selfish. He claims to be Alty through and through, but its crap. He's interested in himself and his family. He's got his son faffing around in the reserve team and his daughter at the community hall. Sat in the main stand today with a big smile on his face, anybody would have thought it was a promotion party.

The club is a shambles.

Where the hell is the leadership?

The club is a shambles.

Where the hell is the leadership?

It does seem that way, and the leader looked very happy at Salford today.
The next step to possibly turn this, not around, but at least in the right direction, is the managerial appointment, which could give a reboot, and hope of a fresh start for next season. I won't hold my breath, though.

Then, it's season ticket renewals or the lack thereof.

In our wisdom though rather than wait till the end of the season we are looking to recruit a manager now while the best will be in employment

Absoloute madness

Chairman Row Lee had a grin like a Cheshire Cat V BPA.

Perhaps the worst moment in our footballing history. As others have said, we've known this would happen for a long time but the moment when the inevitable became the actual is still unbelievably heart-breaking, soul-destroying and bleak. The fact that the person ultimately responsible for this has taken almost none of the blame and accepted absolutely none of the responsibility is so appalling as to be almost laughable.

Grahame, Grahame Rowley
Greatest chairman in our history
From the Conference National
Guided Alty to obscurity

Mike, just because i participated in a club fundraiser doesn't necessarily mean i support the decisions the board make or believe there is nothing wrong with the club.

None taken. The walk in itself proves the ability to walk 12 miles and nothing more.

This is such a sad night for the club.

We have been in free fall since Lee lost interest

And since then the catalogue of errors has put us here

I think my lowest point was the article stating that someone like Val Owen who played through an injury to get us promoted didn't really earn it and we are where we deserve to be

Out of all that's gone on sadly that article that should never have seen the light of day in the programme never mind the official website signalled our total lack of direction and ambition

Our programme should be a place where we are galvanising and bringing together our fan base behind the chairman manager and team

It's only one of many mistakes but it was a pivotal moment

As we stare down the humiliation of our lowest point of this clubs proud history and get ready to play teams who will run that extra yard and put in that extra tackle to big the big name of Altrincham fc it's going to take a new United approach to restore any sort of pride

Where do we go from here ?

Have we hit the lowest point yet ?

In life only one this is constant .. change

And altrincham fc is in desperate need of change

If I had the power to do what I think is right for this club I would ask Graham to step down and continue to lead the amazing work he does at the club from  the community aspect

I would then be recruiting for a new chairman who understands football and can ensure that this is our number 1 priority at all time

I would then be looking to grow the active  board ( which in my humble opinion is too small ) with people who can either back the club financially or add value in driving finance through the club through marketting sponsorship and further corporate activity to help plug the finicial gap that we now face next season

I would be announcing now next year's season ticket prices to attempt to rekindle some faith from the die hards that love this club to come back next year

Ideally I would be looking to retain the best we have now to have a spine of a team we can build on for next season

All the games we have now are in effect pre season friendlies

So if those players are not staying we can let them go now we have nothing to gain keeping them

I would then be inviting a fan representive into board meetings to help close and heal the ever growing rift the club faces

Finally I would have an active local scout activity in place now scouring the leauge we are to enter to take the cream of the leauge to this club with the clear vision that within 2 years we will be back in this leauge then push on again

Those are my thoughts about the club I love on a bleak evening

Congratulations on completing the walk too.
