We could do with it being off again if Patterson and Cyrus are still ill. I'll be going, expecting nothing, as has been the case for weeks. Will
This Blyth sending off count on Tuesday or will some antiquated administration system mean he's available on Tuesday?

I can't go but would if I lived locally.

Being buggered at home by the Macc smackheadz ain't on my wish list, so I think I'm in the horribly horrible VILE position of preferring us not to win.

I too could cry.

Much as would go, i cant.

I know the propect of getting butt f**ked by mac is horrible, i still hope we win.

They might play an unregistered player again 8)

Can't go due to work and very thankful for that, otherwise I might be tempted to waste my time and money driving from West Lancs.

I could go if I wanted but I won't bother. I'd probably get more enjoyment out of pulling out my toenails with a pair of pliers.

As I said last week, the attendance figure for this game should be quite revealing, since it's "all pay". If it's another bitterly cold night, we'll be lucky to break 300 in my opinion.

The potential for a low attendance record was brought up on a previous thread by the esteemed Cult. Not only is the 355 v Leamington last year 'at risk', but the 268 at Curzon for the replayed tie (after the power cut on the Saturday) could be under threat. I believe that's the lowest ever gate for a Trophy tie involving Alty, but will check my records to be on the safe side. I will be there - if only because I've given my word that I'll man the TASC table before the game & at half-time - but hell, I know I'm insane ...
[* Further research shows three lower crowds - all away - 222 @ Gateshead in 2003 (2nd Qual), 235 @ Bishop Auckland in 2000 (3rd Qual) & 257 @ Burscough in 1998 (3rd Qual)]

I will go, in the vain hope we can get a win.

Hope that Pattison is available and the players chosen play in there best position. Its a cup game so we have a chance.

Can't decide if I can be bothered to travel the 54 miles each way from Shropshire for this given the really dire performances. Might come to catch up with friends if nothing else but am not really expecting much from the football.

Can't go due to coaching and family commitments - I am not boycotting, honestly!

JH seems to have the knack for Cup Football (he is, after all, defending the trophy his team won last year), so maybe the much needed win will come tonight. A draw offers the less than enticing prospect of a mid-December trip to Blyth (do I remember a mysterious Conference North postponement at this time of year in Lee Sinnott's time?) so a definite result one way or the other would be good. We are right down the bare bones because of eligibility issues - if the sick and the lame are not all fit again it seems to me we could even have Alfreton-style issues about fielding a full bench (which says a lot more about NY than it does about JH, by the way).

Still, despite it all, the right team selection, intelligent use of substitutes (however few we might have) and a positive attitude to keep going forward to the end even if we are winning narrowly should see us through tonight. There is a first time for everything! I shall look forward to hearing the cheers for our goals from what passes for the crowd through my patio doors!

December 2011......Tommy Cassidy had just been installed as Blyth manager & didn't want the game played. If it had taken place, it would have been Anthony Danylyk's last game for Alty.

The timing is a shame because this was due to be the first time since 1979 that we were to begin our FA trophy campaign with the current trophy winning manager in charge?

Astonished that we seem to have done ok with such a threadbare team. I'll take all the positives after yet another big day in our recent history and hopefully so will the players and run with it.

Well done to all, especially those who braved it in the stands!

I don't know how Pep got a job as a manager. He has no idea. He got rid of Joe Hart and failed to bring in anyone better, then he decided to put the best player on the subs bench and allow a player on loan to play against them. As for septic, it was their cup final.

Part two

Blyth Spartans 8/11
Draw 11/4
Alty 13/5

Blyth will probably have turnball and Robbie Dale back so it will be a tougher prospect than Tuesday. However if we can field a slightly stronger side than Tuesday night there's every chance we can progress

Unable to attend due to pre-existing evening commitments (would also be unable to attend on 20th if we got thru, by the way). Good luck to all those travelling - by whatever means.
As for the game - if the players can show the same level of effort, passion & commitment as was evident in most quarters on Tuesday (& perhaps a little more by some wouldn't go amiss ...) that'll do me irrespective of the result. Attitude is all-important.

Whatever happens it's another opportunity to understand how Buzz wants them to play.

I'd still like to see two wins before Christmas. Tamworth look like they'll be in the playoffs. FCUM on the other hand don't.

Too soon in my view.  I'd bring him on at ht at the earliest.  Bring him back in over a few weeks, the crimbo schedule could be very taxing on a lad whose not played for 14 months or so.

3-0 to 3-2.  Crapping it at the end. Hopefully a real confidence booster and something to kick on from. Well done to all involved.

And one of these childish -1 points for this, how? whoever it is, just PM me and explain.

Well done everybody.  I admire the way the locals support the club, excellent support over RR.

The concerns remain about the defence - we were back to hacked clearances when Shaun went off.  What a bloody difference that man makes.

Well done lads, have a safe journey back as well as any supporters that could make it.

Glad to see Dens on way back and correct decision to start him and withdraw him when 3-0 up. Big confidence booster hopefully ahead of the Stockpot match.

Altrincham defended really solidly all match in my opinion. We had enough of the ball to have done anything on another day, but we struggled to find a way past your defence which seemed to know exactly what it was doing and where it needed to be. Even when we stepped up a gear after pulling it back to 2-3 everything we tried had an Altrincham player in the way at the vital moment. You deserved your win today and probably should have been far more comfortable in the end. All the best against Macclesfield, wouldn't have minded that tie at all, but it's just as welcome to have a clearer schedule now I think.

Any kind of win in this disastrous season is a welcome one so well done to Buzz and all the lads.

Encouraging as well for next seasons Evostik promotion bid that we have beaten two top half Evostik outfits in Matlock and Blyth in the cups this season.

If we go down he is just the type of striker we need. He has scored a lot of goals since he left us.

prior to our latest management change you could have sent a team of absolute dross and still won. I'm far from confident now but we have found some desire and commitment.
