I don't know about Messi but were in a right Mess.
Why does he keep playing Goodall in defence? he couldn't stop a bloody pig in an entry

The post match interview is also up.
Just listened to it. All the interviews are the same ,except for the opposition.
Worryingly JH doesn't seem to have a system/formation that he can run with yet.
All he says is that "we were poor defensively" We all know that Jimmy . Start kicking some fkn arses and get rid of the dross even if we have to use the young lads. At least the will give a damn.

Talking of young lads I can't believe Cain hasn't been given a chance, he has to be better than some of these guys.......

... and I fear it shows a woeful lack of awareness of competition registration rules on the part of Messrs. Harvey & Flynn. To be eligible on Tuesday a player would have to have been signed by the day before the original date of the tie, so McDonald cannot be considered. As far as I gather, Morrison-Derbyshire & Lenighan have played for other clubs in the competition (Greenwich Borough & Warrington respectively, I believe), so that's two more who can't be included. Room for manoeuvre in terms of selection is therefore very limited! As for the interview itself, I'm afraid the needle has got stuck in the record. I'd bring Cain back from Skem tomorrow, personally.

I think it's a confidence thing again. No decent challenge was put in for the first goal because they didn't fancy giving away a penalty. Same withe Reeveseys breakaway. Why didn't he cut inside instead of a pass to nobody? By the second half there is nothing to lose but in the first half no one wants to screw up.

He has been given dual registration hasn't he ? I was very surprised as well

Glad Lenighan cant play, he is poor.
Interview was tedious. Why not ask the question. Why play Goodall at centre half when there were CH's on the bench and so many players playing out of position? Even as a Junior manager I know this does not work.
I certainly would give Cain a go.
-
For information - on the Cheshire League website Cain is listed as having played (& scored) for the reserves yesterday. Andrew Jones, the goalkeeper who I believe is dual registered with Mossley, is also listed as having played, as is Shaun Densmore (as was forecast in the match programme yesterday).

Can we not find an interviewer who will ask J.H. the obvious and difficult questions each week? Otherwise a bit of a waste of time interviewing him at all I would have thought. I'll do it if no-one else fancies the job.
-
I hear Shaun had no reaction to the injury from playing for the reserves. Hopefully not long till he can return to the 1st team.

Apologies for that oversight on my part, Mike. As has previously been reported, Luis Morrison-Derbyshire & Simon Lenighan are both ineligible, having played for Greenwich Borough & Warrington Town respectively.

Thanks, The S.O.S, for the helpful offer. If you send me a Personal Message via this forum then I will organise for you to do the next manager interview on Alty TV, which will probably be on Saturday, if we beat Blyth & progress to play Macclesfield in the FA Trophy or on Boxing Day, following the game against F.C. United of Manchester.
-
Thanks Brian - I will send you a personal message when I work out how to! Could do either of the potential dates.

Really good to hear Shaun played for the reserves. I can't wait to see him back. I was beginning to think he had gone the same way as Lord Lucan.

Whoah, hang on a minute? Are we letting fans just interview the First Team manager now?
-
what could possibly go wrong?..... ;D
-
Maybe sets a dangerous precedent having a fan directly interview the manager - I'm sure Brian will be very careful with his handling of the interviewer and lay down some professional guidelines but I'd rather see Brian conducting the interviews and including questions from named fans.
-
Its best if Brian does it ,what's the point in him asking Jim
Do you think were sh*t or sumfin
-
The gentleman who will be doing the interview has quite extensive journalistic experience & may also be helping us out with Radio Robins.

We have been doing it for years...John Edwards & I are both fans & I can't think of a previous Press Officer at Alty who wasn't a supporter. There may well have been one but John's & my predecessors, that I can think of, were all fans e.g. John Pollitt, Mark Harris, Paul Brady.
Oddly enough, the circumstrances here are not dissimilar to how I became involved on the press side at Alty.....in 1989.

It's funny that you should mention that, Paul, as we are looking at trialing that tomorrow night with whoever I interview after the Blyth game, which almost certainly won't be the manager, as John Edwards will be speaking with Jim Harvey & I generally speak with someone else when that happens.

Thanks BVV...but I'm sure that will not happen.
