To be accurate all the Fish Shops are in the adjacent village of Matlock Bath
No frozen taiters in town !
-
Matlock it is. I don't recall seeing them before and sadly I won't see them this time either.
This is a tie we can win. This is a great opportunity to get some bloody pride back, to claw back some of the money Young spent unwisely. Come on Alty. Let's bloody do it.

Not a pie fan - much prefer to fill up on 'scraps' and a risole
Sorry folks - it is a footy forum - albeit quiet at the moment
Matlock Bath. Mentioned in the utterly brilliant Half Man Half Biscuit song 'The light at the end of the tunnel (is that of an on-coming train)'. Bit of culture there with your football.

The Fenoughty Brothers.

Half Man Half Biscuit....................all I want for Christmas is a "Dukla Prague away kit"...................a team of the communist era that was disbanded as a result of the break up of the Eastern Bloc and public opinion

The Fenoughty Brothers.
Tom ? and ?
Maybe played for the Blades or the Owls before dropping into NL, but guessing this was the period when Matlock won the Trophy ???

Tom, Mick and Nick: stalwarts of the Matlock Town team during Alty's Northern Premier League days in the 1970s.
I also recollect seeing the former England and Sheffield Wednesday centre half Peter Swan turn out for them at Moss Lane when he was their player-manager.

1975, they bear Scabby 4 0 in the Trophy final.
Their team that day wss Fell,McKay, Smith, Stuart, Swan, Dawson,, Oxley,, Fenoughty N., Scott, Fenoughty T and Fenoughty M. Sub wad Brookes.
Peter Swan was player manager.

We played them at home in the trophy the next year, my mate had a flag that said 'Johnson eats Fenoughtys for breakfast'.
Re Dukla Praha - well it depends on your view on reformed teams as there is a team operating as Dulkla, but for many years there wasn't.
HMHB have many football references (eg 'I was a teenage armchair Honved fan') and are famously fans of Tranmere.
