Title: Nuneaton Town match thread...

Nunny 4 - 0 Alty

Nuneaton are terrible too. I'd imagine there'd be several squad changes by Monday. Hopefully a couple of full backs and a ball-winning midfielder, with Cyrus and Hall back fit.

No one has any idea if Cyrus and Hall will be available because the club likes to keep it secret.

or Hall got injured on Saturday and it's only Sunday so surprisingly he hasn't been to see a medical specialist, reported back to the club and passed the info on to a press officer to make the situation public on everyone's day off (from volunteering in the case of the press guys I believe).  Good grief, give it a rest, Premier League teams don't come out with injury info that fast.

Just to say that Hall went off injured against Chorley last Tuesday.

Don't expect too much with regards to changes in defence and new face just yet after only 24 hours after Gloucester . Silkpurse and pig ears comes to mind

Apologies, I was wrong, my factual recall was a bit sh*t due to a combination of it being 12:40 am and me being so annoyed about the incessant vitriolic nonsense being spouted on here on so many threads.

Nuneaton 23/20 with William Hill.

If I was a betting man id say lob as much as you like at it unless we've signed anyone and even if we get a draw you can just recoup your losses on Saturday.

lets just hope the team can show a bit of fight, a bit of pride and carryout the jobs given to them by the manager and hopefully we can get some sort of result.

(where have I heard that statement before)?

1-1 Miller

34 travelling fans

I've even managed to coerce my son to come and watch them tonight !!!

I can't believe we've put Dawber behind a back four of Patterson, Hattersley,  Hobson, and the new lad Doherty. And Bassangue on the bench ! Maybe we've released a few without saying anything ? Tonight already looks a lost cause.

My thoughts too - supposed to be pen and yellow now not red unless it's violent and red on that basis.

Turns out it's still a red:

It is no longer an automatic red card if a player or goalkeeper brings down an opponent while acting as the last line of defence; where a genuine attempt has been made to play the ball, officials will be allowed to give a penalty and only book the offender.

But deliberate fouls - including holding, pulling or pushing, not playing the ball, serious foul play, violent conduct or deliberate handball in order to deny a goalscoring opportunity - will still result in dismissal.

Yes it can
We can concede four more in the second half, find out the injured players are going to be out longer than we expected, find out we have no money to bring in replacements and that Evostick is becoming a distinct possibility for next season

Unbelievable....we seemed to be better with no manager.

Any other side gets new manager and the team shoots up the league.

I am concerned as hobson and hattersley dont even look like footballers but seem to be first on the team sheet.

How can one man (ny) do so much damage????

Lets have them in for extra training with the cote...

I was expecting much more against what are likely to be two of the easier opponents...

Get it fixed jim!!....3-2 v county and 2-2 chorley were acceptable and gave hope....getting dicked by gloucester and nunny is not acceptable.

So far this season I've listened to the last half hour of a 6-0 defeat, a 5-0 defeat and a 4-1 defeat and felt hugely relieved that it wasn't worse - the results are horrific but they could easily have been worse given the performances and that is what is truly frightening!

There was more bite after the substitiutions, Harry Cain was very lively, there was a bit of fight.  Get some players back we might move forward a little.

At some point we will need to have a go at teams, rather than inviting pressure.  This probably means starting the likes of Cain and Miller on opposite flanks and pegging their fullbacks further up the pitch.  This in turn will also create the space for Lawrie, which will then free up Reeves to stretch the centre backs.

It's not rocket science.

Whilst by no means ideal, the unfortunate thing is, they weren't the worst players on the pitch.
