Kiddy 6 - 0 Alty
Going for an encouraging 2-1 defeat. I'd just like a few signs of improvement today that's all
-
To be fair, there wasn't a great deal else that could have been done. I thought they might select Reeves, Lawrie and Sinclair. Well, it's bold and I really hope Kiddy don't have a good right winger.

wheres the bloke that does not speak english?

Get sumner off, sounds like he is getting done every time

one of the commentary team on rr seems to rate him
-
Anyone who really watched the Curzon game knows Sumner is easily beaten I'm afraid. I'm damn sure Kiddy knew that too.

I get the feeling we may never see him again...
-
Sounds like a great effort from the lads today big improvement well done
-
Looks like a big improvement today, so must credit the lads for that. I am more hopeful for Saturday now, but things are going to have to happen sharpish as we are short pretty much everywhere on the pitch.

agreed first stop is motivation and organisation next step is clear the crap out and bring some proven players in

First time I've seen us play this season today and we exceeded my very low expectations:
Dawber: one decent save and one good clearance coming off his line but absolutely no presence in the area and too small to get hold of any crosses - I think he caught one cross all day despite them having numerous corners.
Sumner: Woeful, too slow and poor positioning, skinned every time - I'd play anyone ahead of him
Heathcote: did OK, drifted inside slightly too often but only to be expected of a natural centre half playing full back
Cyrus and Moran: Looked OK today
Lawrie: tried hard, made a good tackle at left back - we all know what you get from him
Richman: again what you would expect, lots of energy and good defensively but nothing creative and not a winger
Moult: MoM took on their midfield single handed
Lynch: totally anonymous, I didn't see him do anything wrong but then I don't remember him doing anything at all which is terrible for a central midfielder
Reeves: again what you would expect, ran his heart out but no service
Sinclair: you a couple of headers but again no service so not sure he can be judged on that basis
B H-C: looked OK but as others have said very lightweight
Hattersley won some flick ons but not enough to judge
Overall we held our shape OK and looked reasonable defensively. Going forward we created absolutely nothing.
We need a new keeper, left back and a creative winger (although we may have one of those on the injury list)
-
I agree with above.
Despite not having a shot on target and conceding a soft goal we looked better than Saturday. At least it looked like we had a game plan.
Getting Densmore, Goodall and Patterson back will.give more options
Need a win to get us going

My first game of 2016 I thought the old boys Mault Reeves Laurie and Richmond were ok I was impressed by young Sam Heathcote at rb. Cyrus seems a decent player and I reckon Sinclair would be ok with some decent service. I was hoping to see young Harry Cain have a run out to see what he can do . I wasn't impressed with the ref who I thought was a bit card happy
This will be a long drawnout procedure to put things right, but given the right man as manager (which will be crucial to our destiny) I am pretty confident that with some astute signings and getting rid of the dross we should be ok. Desperately need more width and a keeper that can give the back four some confidence in his ability.
I can't believe the number of players that NY has used in just a handful of games, its not surprising that players are struggling for form.
Best wishes to the three lads tasked as caretaker managers...
Nice to be back watching the lads after a long time away..
-
Fantastic result today much down to densmore picking the team I expected a hamering
So something to build on we look better already
-
It's come to something when a 1-0 defeat can be described as fantastic....
-
Best performance of the season what's up with ya
-
Well, I suppose so, but that's defining good as the absence of bad, which is, by definition, not good.

The glass is half full I keep telling my self mate

It is too. At least half full.

I didn't make yesterday, but it's good to know that somebody whose judgement I trust agrees largely my previously expressed views....particularly with regard to Sumner and Lynch.
Dawber's size shouldn't be an issue. Your Dad (give him my regards) will remember the diminutive Willie Mailey, who could leap like a salmon.
