The Ladies held their fifth Presentation Evening last night, kindly sponsored by Neil Faulkner who handed out the Trophies.
It was a good night enjoyed by all.
Particularly pleasing was the number of Fans and players Family members who attended. Thanks to you all
Onward now this coming Thursday with the next training session
-
The ladies get trips to Rhyl and the Wirral and we get to go to Widnes and urmston 🙄

Photographs from Saturday Evening's presentation are on the main site now.

The Ladies play their first pre season fixture this coming Sunday making the comparatively short trip to play Bury.
Kick Off has been brought forward to 12.30 and the game will be played at
Philips High School, Park Lane, Whitefield, M45 7ph
As always any support will be most welcome
-
As previously advised the Ladies played theur first pre season fixture today against a strong Bury ladies team playing their ninth.
Despite taking an early lead courtesy of Gail Simpson a combination of injury, understandable fatigue and a paitch which was not conducive to our passing style of play we were eventually defeated 3-1
Far more positives than negatives to be taken from the game though including a couple of impressive debuts and an appearance from a Trialist who demonstrated both how good a player she is and also that Alty Ladies are capable of potentially attracting some real quality players
-
This Sunday's (14th Aug) pre-season game v Rhyl LFC has been rearranged to our HOME venue Mersey Valley Sports Club 2pm ko
We would love to see as many supporters as possible down to cheer the ladies on v our Welsh Premier League opponents.
Usual bar facilities will be open from 12.oo.
Look forward to seeing you there
-
Some aditional information about Sunday is that Rhyl are a Welsh Premier League Club so hopefully there should be some good football on show
-
An excellent pre season fixture this afterniin between Altrincham FC Ladies ended in a three all draw.
Goalscorers were Jess Hartopp, Kate Bryan and Kye Brown
Everyone contributed handsomely but particulat mentions must go to sixteen year old debutant Megan Wright and Goalkeeper Lizzie Brereton who pulled off a string of superb saves.
The Ladies are at home again next Sunday when the visitors for our third pre season friendly are Leigh RMI
Please, pop down and give us your support. I'm sure that those who have attended will say that you will enjoy the football played.
-
Matchday 3 this coming Sunday (21st) where we welcome down to Mersey Valley Sports Club (M33 5SL) our friends from Lancashire, Leigh RMI Ladies.
The game kicks off at 2pm and as usual the clubhouse will be open.
Leigh play in Div 1 North of our set-up so it will be a good test of our abilities as we build up to our season opener
We would love to see as many supporters as possible down to Mersey Valley to support the girls in this game and who knows you may enjoy it and want to come back again
-
The Ladies were succesful in todays Pre Season Friendly against Leigh RMI LFC
Leigh play in the NWWRFL Division 1 North whereas we play in the Southern Division
Some superb football today allowed Alty to run out 4-1 Winners with goals from Laura Dodds (2), Megan Wright and Brogan Walsh.
A number of spectators commented positively on the football the Ladies played which is always pleasing.
We are awau next Sunday when we complete our Pre Season Programme with a visit to Tranmere Rovers
-
We would like to announce that Smart Storage have today agreed to a sponsorship package to provide our training kits for the next 2yrs.
After a series of meetings tonight we shook hands on the deal which sees the girls proudly wear the kit and promote the name Smart Storage all over the North West.
The fact that such a big forward thinking local company have come on board shows just how far we have come in such a short time.

The ladies final pre season outing, initially away to Tranmere Rovers has been altered due to Tranmere being unable to fulfill the fixture
We now travel to Curzon Ashton this Sunday - The precise time and location are yet to be absolutely confirmed but details will be posted on here as soon as they are
-
Firstly apologies for not confirming time and location. I only found out quite late on.
Secondly I am pleased to report that the Ladies were victorious today. Goals from Megan Wright, Jess Hartopp, Laura Dodds and Laura Kelly helping to achieve a 4-1 victory.
Again some of the footgball played on what was a somewhat challenging artificial surface was excellent
On now to our first League fixture next Sunday

would like to see the ladies in action at moss lane maybe an 11am kick off before a home match...or maybe afterwards....they deserve to play on the big stage with a decent crowd...
-
Thanks Jezza (Never thought I'd say that tbh)
Our home games are played at Mersey Valley Sports Club which I don't think is that far from you.
Why not pop down to a game, hopefully you'll enjoy it and see what we are trying to achieve
-
With all due respect to the womens team, there are several teams that deserve the coverted pre match moss lane KO. Our Under 18, Youth and Reserves to start with.

Very nice build up & class finish for that first goal.

Cheers Flynnie
Megan is one of our new signings and is only sixteen. A definite prospect
-
Thanks for that Jack
Given that all the teams that you mention (a) Got more game time on the hallowed turf than the Ladies last season and (B) are male, without seeking in any way to be confrontational precisely how much respect do you personally think the Ladies team are due?
We are aware of the fact that, under present regulations, we cannot provise a first team player, unlike the other teams but we have made significant progress over a very short period of time and, we believe, represent the Club in a very positive manner.
Youve answered your own question really. They don't lead to a first team prospect. They did however get a beer festival spot.
Ultimately - I don't mean this disrespectfully - they are a recreational side, same as our Supporters team. The reserves play at Cheshire League level and would provide a more competitive fixture for the paying customer.
I'd rather perhaps see a walking football match

I think the groundsman has enough to do to protect the pitch without extra games being played on it. I prefer the current arrangement where some of our representative teams get to play at ML during the Beer Festival.

Whilst accepting your point Jack I would just like to correct a glaring error in your response.
The Ladies are not a "recreational" team as you put it. In fact, playing at Level 4 of our Pyramid we are playing at the highest level within their respective League Structures of any Senior team in the Club.
-
Thanks for that Jack

Jack, given how garbage our first team is right now, I find it hard to believe you think anyone would want a serving up of the reserves before watching the first team?
I'd happily come and watch the ladies play if I had the time and we had a pitch and ground staff that could handle it. However, I would raise concerns ovr puting the pitch under unnecessary pressure, we should do all we can to avoid a fixture pile up for the first team.

The supporters team are a bit more than a recreational side. They represent the club as well as the all the other Alty teams.
The Ladies team play in a competitive league and have made significant progress in their short history.
Maybe we could have a walking football match take place at the next beer festival.

I'd also like to add our Juniors section - which we dont publicise as well as we could at times, now has 39 boys teams in leagues, 10 girls teams in leagues, a 2hour Saturday club for Ages U6-U8 and a girls Wednesday club for any below U9. Its booming with about 700 kids enjoying junior football and playing in Alty kits !

That really is superb. Just the thought of so many youngsters in Alty kits gives us great hope for the future.
-
It's brilliant to have an involvement with the Juniors - such a lot of enthusiasm and no lack of skill either.
Hopefully the future will be bright if we can keep hold of some of these Juniors

Hi Jack
Any chance maybe of responding to the question as to how much respect, in your opinion, the Ladies Team are due?
Incidentally have you ever watched them, other than at the Beer Festival? or even watched the footage of some of the goals?
I suspect from your observation that you would rather watch the reserves than the Ladies that you are not a san of Ladies Football and that is fine Why not just say so though?
Youre wrong.
I have actually watched a fair ammount of womens football. I attended many games at the olympics at OT and watch the BBC coverage of Englands womens international coverage. I also follow WSL on FB for their round up highlights package.
I watched all the goals on twitter. Sorry to disappoint you x
Anyway, womens football will not provide our first team with players. Secondly, with all due respect the reserve are a better quality product to draw in crowds.
-
For what it's worth, as someone who has watched and photographed a number of games, I think the quality of football on display is top drawer. As much as I would like to see a youth academy produce an end product for the men's first team, I think it is as equally important to see the same happen with the ladies team.
This is very much a team on the up, and when I have fallen out of love with football on a Saturday, the ladies team always picks me back up on the following Sunday.

It's worth one hell of a lot Mike - Thanks from all of us associated with the Ladies
