After a recent chat with someone I have decided after putting over £500 of my own money since 2006 to keep the forum going I am going to let someone else do it.

Email me: gazwarrington@hotmail.com if you want to take over the domain name and SQL Server. SQL Server is £10.68 every 3 months and the domain www.altyfans.co.uk needs re-registering in February 2016, i think usually around £20-30 for the 2yrs.

I will amend everything to someone else's details so will need address details before I can pass over all the master details for both sections to make sure I am totally away from it all & no more bills come to me for it.

I can chip in with some pounds and pennies but am a technical numpty - wouldn't have a clue.  £500 is a hefty whack for one person to shoulder.

I've emailed you with an offer to take it over if no-one else offers to do it. I write, run and market travel related websites, admin SQL Server, own forums, write apps and much more as my day job so have the skills needed.

I'm sure there are others who would like to help (didn't I see a post from MarkEcky on here before?) so if they want to do it then I'm happy. If no one else steps up then I'm happy to take it on and if anyone else wants to help out too, that's fine with me.

Also happy to contribute if Gary wants to carry on with us all crowd funding the costs.

I have a facility to remove posts if needed, which was set up to stop mischief making posts staying on here ahead of the Stockport county home game a few years ago as the other moderators can't look at this place 24/7. Thankfully it's not really needed as our supporters are generally sensible. The moderators of the forum really are to be applauded for being so relaxed about the debate on here, even in the face of provocation and thanked for giving their time for nothing.Lets not forget the forum has still had to be maintained and moderated since Gary moved away. Maybe going forward a pinned set of user guidelines/rules will appear like on 99% of other forums and that will encourage some of those chased off here to return. Especially if they know they won't be rounded on for simply proffering a different view. The forum has lost a lot of users over time, maybe with a spring clean and a committed group of admins rather than it falling on the same small few they might return and give this place more life.
