Title: BBC Sport - Factual Reporting??
Post by: WiganAlty on April 28, 2007, 09:37:17 PM
From BBC Sport:

"Altrincham 0-0 Aldershot
Altrincham meekly surrendered their Conference status with a stalemate against Aldershot.
The Robins enjoyed most of the possession but struggled to carve out scoring opportunities, Rod Thornley spurning their best chance on the hour.

The hosts were briefly buoyed by the addition of seven injury-time minutes.

But it was the visitors who looked more likely to score in that time with Phil Anderson hammering a shot over the bar as Altrincham went down. "

Meekly surrendered - I think not!! I can think of a few games where this might have been apt, but certainly not today.

Wonder who scripted this piece of drivel?

Of course, feel free to disagree with my humble opinion.

Hey Butty, I think you have been on the magic mushrooms?

Colinplayed ok yesterday, he dribbled well with good distribution.

1. In the first half he dribbled into the box by the goal line and Bush mist from 2 yards!
2. Spearheaded the attack and helped create numerous oportunities.

If we want to be critical then it was when Colin snaped at his shot when the goalie chested the ball. I do not think he realised he had more time.

Surely you agree there goalie had an exceptional afternoon, and he made several good saves.

When the ball hit the bar, I realised we were not going too score, if we had been committed on a few other games like yesterday we would have gained the point we required for safety.
