This is a really big part of the club's future and that makes today a momentus day in my eyes.

Does anyone know how the financial side of it works?
On the website it explains that every booking helps the club's finances. Are revenues split between the club and other groups? Who else has a stake in the community centre? Presumably we make a profit of all food and drink sales?

I hope it's a great success but architecturally it looks like the sorting office has moved down the road!

It is quite an ugly building, but I've never been to a non-league ground and been blown away by the architectural beauty of the place.

Maybe not blown away, but Bath City's ground is superb.

One in a lot mate. I don't think many football grounds, non-league or otherwise, are aesthetically pleasing. I think some look better than others and some have more character than others but for every Bath there are a dozen or more Burtons.

I actually like the look of it. Will look better when/if they can get some sponsor boards across the top of it.
It was always going to be grey and red to match the stand on the other side I would imagine but considering it was done on the smallest budget they could then I don't think it looks cheap.

I think it looks ok but i'm all for functional. I hope some of the revenue is earmarked for replacing the pitch perimeter fence which is falling apart in places, especially in front of the new building..

Wasn't going to reply on this thread but as a taster for the open day on 14th December here is a summary :o
The new facility is being run by the new Charitable trust and all income from Community activities goes to pay for the running of the Hall, staff costs, equipment, maintenance, heating, air conditioning, water etc etc for the benefit of the community, non profit making. The charity pays AFC to lease its hours of use.
On match days and when used by AFC for club activities, AFC receive the income.
The building design was dictated by;
A) The very restricted site
B) The funding available
C) The Planning rules
D) Licensing and Football grant/league rules
E) Matchday suitability/keeping a flaggers terrace
The building has a very Low/Zero carbon design, highly efficient and low running cost and built to last with lots of flexibility built in to allow a very wide range of uses.
Further details of all the building's attributes will be shown and explained at the Open Day on Sunday 14th December 2014 which is a MUST VISIT for any Alty fan as this building is going to move Alty up to the next level long term and will prove a fantastic legacy for the club.
