Title: grimsby fans
Post by: Timperley The Best on November 15, 2014, 03:57:14 PM

What about the three middle class T**ts ballooning in the sterile area including one with a "man bag" that got lobbed out, hilarious, what did they expect? The GMP can do this sort of game with their eyes closed. It might be a bit Juliet Bravo in humberside but our lot do this everyweek.

Very decent turnout to be fair and they made a good bit of noise too.

Must have run out of flares by theta ether scored?  I thought Stuart was brave picking them up and throwing the into the sterile area.

But if they will constantly hark back to the 70s, Tis theor own fault

I ran out of fish references mid way through the first half too as they kept slipping over  ;D

They started off in The Golf Rd after ht and I asked the stewards if they could be moved into the away end for their own safety when they started ballooning after the disallowed goal. Happily they went one better and informed the fashion police who immediately ejected them from the ground.

I'm not being funny, but when I went down to the away end for the second half, it positively reeked of fish.

They were complaining in Costellos later of Police heavy handedness

Heavy handedness my arse. Clowns all 3 of them who got very mouthy when the stewards appeared.

In truth they shouldn't have been given the opportunity to be escorted into the away end. If you purposely enter the home end you should be straight out. So for them to balloon again on the way round im not sure what else they expected...

One of the smoke bombs was thrown during a Grimsby attack and it caused the ref to stop play. Strange move by their fans. You could see how annoyed their players were with them after that

If your own players are pissed off at you, you're doing something wrong Grimsby x

They passed just behind me when entering the sterile area after being escorted through the popside.......they had only just got clear when Grimsby scored. I was informed that they were nicked because they had already been thrown out once earlier in the game and had paid again to get back in via the home end.....an extra £42 for the club

A few loons aside, Grimsby were no bother and it's good to be playing teams that bring 750 supporters instead of seeing ten weirdo's from Brackley

Just to add that one of their songs was quite unusual........"we've got more fans than you - we've got more fans than you"..........they are hardly plying their trade in The Championship anymore and seem to have forgot they are now a non-league team

No, it was thrown whilst we were attacking. Once we lost the ball and play turned to go towards Stu, the ref was then facing that way and saw the flare. At that point he stopped the game.

I remember in my years at Hull University (2000-04) Grimsby Town despite not being in the same league as Hull were seen as big rivals. There was great hilarity in my final year when Hull got promoted from League 2 and Grimsby passed them in the opposite direction coming down from League 1. If I was a Grimsby fan I'd be looking 10 years on where the two teams are and have been over the past decade than willy waving about having more fans than a traditional Cobference team.

I remember us singing that in the late 90's during our first stint in the Unibond.

Since the population of Grimsby at the last census was more than double that of Altrincham, I should bloody well hope they HAVE got more fans.....especially since they're not exactly surrounded by rival attractions.

They seemed almost surprised to be thrown out as they reached the away end.  I'm not a big fan of these hooligan films but the bits I have seen have never had any of the main characters with a man bag.  Work to do on that front for those lads.

Big thank you to all those involved in the planning and running of yesterday.

We were kept safe in what had the potential to become a real issue.  From their forum it seems that the police were still herding 100 of them around Stockport at 7:30.

Credit to the majority of the Grimsby fans as well, especially those who set up their own justice system to deal with the fools who stopped their attack with a smoke bomb.

One of the pitch invaders had highlights, ironic facial hair and skinny jeans, would look more at home in the northern quarter than encroaching a football pitch

Smoke bombs are fun,  create a good atmosphere and look great but why everyone throws them on the pitch I do not know

If it is annoying you, just put the thing out, don't throw it on the grass for it to stop the game or for the ref to take 2 minutes to throw it away after a dead ball

This applies for us obviously as well, if you want to bring smoke just keep it off the pitch.

it can be hard for clubs to track down these offenders if their mates close ranks on them unless you have mates like this guy

They are 100% illegal too and some fans have ended up in the courts for having them

(unless this is an ironic post.. if so I am waiting for the whooooosh)

Good job we had all those bag searches to stop people bringing anything in they shouldn't have. Nice of the stewards down that end to let him throw four on so they be absolutely sure who he culprit was.

The best bit was the frustration of the Grimsby players when they were counter-attacking and the referee blew up to allow Stuart to remove the flare!!!!

They can hide them anywhere been at City and United they have full bag and body searches plus the use of dogs that are trained in finding Pyro they still get it in

I got fully patted down going into the Golf Road end by a steward who sees me every game and knows I'm harmless. Bizarre experience  ;D

Top use of the 'no true scotsman' fallacy.

As if letting off a flare doesn't make you a 'real fan'.
