Title: Looking for a flag?
Post by: ripleym on October 24, 2014, 05:50:50 PM
I saw this chap near Timperley Co-Op this evening, wearing club colours.  I nearly suggested that he cover himself up.

I thought Macc didn't pay any wages, he'll be on a few quid if he's using that co-op!

I would be more concerned why a local lad is playing for Macc and not us

He's an ex Heyes Lane boy, came through the stockport youth set up (played against us a couple of years ago in a (mid-season?) friendly and then moved on to Macc. Still lives in Timperley.

If they give him more money than what we can it's one of these things

I am sure our budget is competitive enough

We don't get the crowds to go full time

We don't get the crowds to go full time

We'd probably need more commercial revenue too. Things like stadium sponsorship and more marketable branding might help...

Correct. And why would you want to attract the worst full time footballers in the country when we currently should be attracting the best part time footballers in the country.

No matter what commercial revenue we have the only way you can go pro on crowds of a thousand  is a chairman with a lot of money or do what staylebridge did or maybe a new badge would make us bigger than Madrid
