A very interesting move. Has any Alty player ever commanded a higher fee than £400,000 at some stage during his career?

Very very pleased we have got an experienced player in, welcome to the club Steven.

It was ( and is ) going to be hard to replace Walshaw as clubs don't just give players like him away, they come available through circumstances.  I was worried that the player just wasn't out there on the market.

I'd like one more in but I think that might be a loan player from a league club when we have played a few and have a clearer indication of how things are panning out at a higher level.

Paul Edwards from Crewe to Coventry in 1990 was £350k, so 'in real terms' a fair bit more than 400k today?

I'm more worried that all our players seem to be adopting the same hairstyles and face foliage. Good job they'll have their names on their backs this season.

Even taking into account the opposition, I still saw enough of him in the first half to see that he is going to do well for us. Great touch and movement and his header would have gone in against any keeper.

He looked useful , nice cross for Reeves goal , seems more of a team player than Wally, not as greedy and Im not knocking Wally when I say that .

Nice cross for goal 1, cracking pass to Densmore in the build-up to goal 2, well taken goal 4. He'll do for me on the evidence of that 45 minutes.

Apart from any on the field benefits it won't do us any harm to keep the links with Man Utd.
