Looking like Hednesford at present. I think whoever misses out on the title in Saturday will fall in the playoff semis, although that is a regular turn of events I think both Guiseley or Boston would be pumped up enough to beat ferriby or Telford with them having just 3 days to regroup after such disappointment. I can't see ferriby not getting something from Brackley and you'd have to fancy Telford to get a win over Gainsborough at home
So its looking like next weds will be
Guiseley v Ferriby/Telford
Hednesford v Alty
If we start with both reeves and Walshaw unlike last time, I'd be hopeful we can equal or better the 1-1 draw we got at keys park a few weeks back
The starting X1 that day was
Stuart Coburn,
Shaun Densmore (capt)
Adam Griffin
Jake Moult
Gianluca Havern
Scott Leather
Joe Mwasile
Simon Richman
Kyle Perry
Damian Reeves
Nicky Clee.
Subs:
12. Carl Rodgers, 14. Greg Wilkinson, 15. James Lawrie, 16. James Walshaw, 18. Josh Samberg.
Hednesfords influential Wayne Riley is due to Miss the second league through suspension.

Hednesford are on much better form than they were then
-
So are altrincham, just 2 defeats in 17 games.
-
Fair point but still no form against anyone good

We are going to make Hednesford pay for their antics with us this season. If the football gods shine on us then it will be so, they can have their cheated points but we will take a spot in the playoff final instead.
-
you can have your gods but the odds are with us , you haven't beat us this season ;D
reading through your threads, you seem to bottle it in playoffs
at least it will be segregated this time at our place so won't have to put up with the chavs
how many would you bring to the night match ?

We have a 50% promotion rate in playoffs, so not that bad really. ::)
-
out of those teams the sides who look 'right' for promotion are telford, hednesford and ourselves...boston would have been.
So I hope telford win the league then I'd expect the winner of our tie V hednesford to win the final....just because the likes of ferriby, guisley etc seem to always fail at the play offs almost because they don't want to get promoted to a league they really are not set up for......for evidence I quote brackley last year who were on the face of it a vastly better football side than Halifax......and many attempts by guiseley to bow out gracefully as if they didn't mean to and were almost embarrassed to find themselves on the verge of promotion.....
I am fully expecting us to not turn up v hednesford making them favourites...just got that feeling sorry everyone
-
I personally feel the time is not right to get promoted, although in football terms there's not a lot between the bottom of the conference an top of the north but there is a vast cost in keeping a team there and wouldn't want to be the whipping boys which could cause a free fall to where we came from...I am happy in what we have achieved this season more than I expected , i'm hoping Telford don't win because that's a big derby next year along with Tamworth , like to see the back of Łerriby, sh*t ground and sh*t fans , can't wait for their free fall
Good luck any way, had some good banter with Alty fans at our place and to be fair that's what its all about !
-
I actually fancy our chances this year.
I see us beating hednesford over 2 legs and Guisely to beat NFU.
We will beat Guisely at home.

Indeed there isn't too much between top of North and bottom of National however it is four down so that's the bottom relegated.
Four down is a real tough set up however the National is not as strong as it used to be, well this season any roads.
Let's just hope your nightshade is not the deadly variety!

Maintain a high work rate, hopefully put a few away in the first sixty minutes, then ease back. Keep the ball but start to think about saving legs for the play offs. What we don't want is a stupid defeat and injuries so we have to get this right. As RockyRobin said - professional.
