Returning to work after the weekend, I've had assurances from a number of ardent Stockport fans that they have already agreed terms with two Alty players for next season, one of them a striker. No names yet, but I'm inclined to think that, assuming their is substance in what they have told me, that Reeves may be one. I think that Stockport feel that they have found their level and are now seeking to rebuild. Can't blame them for that, but it would be a shame to see some of our best players move east.

Does Reeves assurance of not going to another non league club still stand? I've a County fan at work whos taunting me about Reeves now.

I was hoping it was Perry as well. I mentioned Reeves only as my own opinion, I may be doing him a disservice. That said, assuming they've seen Perry play and, based on the perceived disquiet between our 2 strikers earlier in the season.......However, the source of the information is someone I consider to be well versed in what happens there, so I won't be surprised if a couple of our players move in their direction.

The first part of the sentence is either bullsh*t or Stockport are utterly deluded.
As for the rebuilding and the signing players off us? Could happen I suppose but you'll forgive me if I take it all with a pinch of salt and believe it when I see it.

What happened to them being on the edge of financial ruin / going bust. not that I want that to happen but I wouldn't have thought they were able to 'tempt' players with improved contracts / salaries. I suppose playing in front of larger crowds may be appeal to some...

Stockport have not scored for 6 matches. Their fans were understandably impressed by the movement of our strikers when we played them. A few days later there are rumours that 2 Alty players (one a striker) are going to join Stockport. My guess is that it is wishful thinking on the part of Stockport fans. I too know some Stockport fans and they assure me the club is still in a perilous financial position. Now, losing players to the likes of Barrow, or even FCUM is a different matter.

Not true. No alty players have agreed anything with stockport. I know people at county and they just laughed. They are broke and could not match even 1/2 what we pay.
