This run of away draws is getting bloody ridiculous now. Still, we've done pretty well in those ties. We have a chance in this one.

Keep the tough away draws coming, I say!

For Heavens Bloody Sake!!

But lets be honest, this Alty team is perfectly capable of beating ANY team on their day.  Or losing to ANY team...

Previous (proper) Cup Ties against Halifax Town do not bode well:

FA Cup 1st round 1975 Halifax 3 Altrincham 1
FA Cup 2nd round 1988 Alty 0 Halifax 3

But a mickey mouse one offers more hope:
Spalding Cup 1996 Halifax 0 Alty 1

Wembley feels a long long way away

"what..they beat Worcester...away?...damn you Altrincham....where else can we send them...what about Halifax...they are up there aren't they, unbeaten for a while I think..yes make it Halifax"

Got to wonder if ABC coaches are involved in this saga...

We'll win of course...

The FA are obviously trying to keep our pitch fresh for the 3rd round of the FA CUP as that will be the time when we actually need a big
away draw & instead we'll get Crawley at Home.

Home by 6, that's only positive can find at the moment!! Winnable, but are we ever going to get a cup draw at Moss Lane??

Have you forgotten that we were blessed by being granted a visit from Congleton Town in the Cheshire Senior Cup....?

This is like the old days though - two months with (almost) no league matches.  Four consecutive cup ties, then Hinckley then another cup tie! Oh, the magic of the cups!

Plus point - easily reachable. Minus points - too many to mention! What have we done to upset the FA 'Cup drawers'?

Laws of probability seem not to be working any more >:( 50/50 chance of home game, NO, 50/50 chance of lower league team, NO, can anyone calculate the probability of our run of draws?

Having said that, we actually seem quite happy playing away these days in cups dont we  :D :D

on a positive note - lot's of BSP and top BSN teams have been drawn against each other which should be in our favour should we progress

I fancy a repeat of last seasons 4-2 victory.

I'm beginning to think that the draw is irrelevant
If we play to our potential we can beat anyone home or away ( we can also lose to anyone home or away!)

My thoughts exactly.

This season I'd say a few might want to avoid us in the cup.

Halifax must have a better forum than that hiding somewhere on t'interweb?

oooh Mansfield v Matlock: a repeat of the local derby (literally) from the FA Cup in 1976 when Matlock, powered by the 3 Fenoughty brothers went to mansfield and won 5-2.

They beat Alty 5-2 that season as well (Ian Morris and Lennie Dickenson scored) and they came to Moss Lane in the Trophy (between Atherstone and Weymouth) and we won 1-0 despite being battered for a lot of the game.  Over 2200 in Moss Lane that day!  Great Atmosphere too.

One of my great Trophy memories

No, that's it, but they have just very recently moved it.....many have probably not caught up yet.

As for the draw, would have been nice to get a home one for once, but we seem to play well away at the moment and they won't exactly be relishing this either

what are the odds of 11 straight away draws in the FA trophy and FA Cup: 1 in 2048 or about 0.05%

And we have a 12th lined up at Crewe.  Which would be 1 in 4096.

The chances of being drawn away again in the next game: 1 in 2.  How come?  Because the 11 away draws have already happened.  so there are only two possible outcomes, both at 50%.  11 away and 1 home or 12 away.  so there is no increased likelihood of us being drawn at home next...

We were drawn at home to Witton last season, so I make that only (only!) eight consecutive away draws in FAC and FAT, if you include Crewe.

Bad draw could've been worse with our recent cup form no reason why we can't win

Could have been much worse we could have drawn them at home.

Quite fancy our chances at their end.

Perhaps we could get Jack back for a one game loan.
