I hope the numbers come out on Saturday. Fair weather though some may be but, off the back of three wins in a row and playing the best supported club in the division, I do hope we have a bumper turn-out. The lads deserve it.
-
My guess...1394.....950 from us and 450 from them.
-
Hopefully SAM will but something about winning 3 in a row
-
A number of "casual" Oxford fans are making the journey as I believe it is their first ever visit to Moss Lane. I hope it doesn't rain :-\

6 of whom will get trapped in the turnstiles and thus not make the final attendance figure?!!!!! :)

front page back page spread?? parade??

Agreed lets get behind them and show them what a real non league team is all about!
Alty 2 Oxford 1

Casual as in 'underground hooligan movement', or casual as in 'wouldn't want to be formally identified as an Oxford fan'?
Either way, as long as they pay to get in. And dont start storming the golf road in Lyle & Scott jumpers and Diadora Bjorn Borg Elite trainers!

Alty 2-1 Oxford

Casual as in, never been to a football match before in their lives but live with an Oxford fan and know someone who lives in Altrincham (me) and wnat to come and have a look at the place and have heard lots and lots about Alty FC for loads of years

Altrincham 1-1 Oxford United
Little 44 Someone 71
Att: 1586
Jim Smith will slam the performance of the home team for a number of disgraceful offences including:
1) Tackling Oxford players
2) Refusing to stand to one side and let them run past
3) Having shots
4) Being part time

Alty 2v1 Oxford
Little With Both Goal s
Attendence: 1360

That's 3 goals ;) I foresee Little not scoring for Oxford and feel a banana cake is a must for half time following the trend of cakes of fruit
-
Cake at half time - definately a step forward. Enjoyed the Weymouth version - thanks again!

2001 score ? v?
-
2 - 1 win for us and a gate of 1403
-
1 - 0 Alty - Bandy header froma set-piece ;D
-
I think Altyant has done his homework on this one.
Oxford can't defend set pieces and don't have a decent striker at the moment.
Can't see us scoring, so 1-0 seems about right.
I don't know about Forest Green though. Have they upset you?
-

well . . .
Forest Green's a F*ckin Joke
We Hope the ground
Goes up in smoke >:(
Sorry but I'm very part time, non league and would be DELIGHTED at a draw and keep he unbeaten run going.
PS:
Any celebrations for a draw or win have nothing to do with it being 'Massive Club Oxford' we are playing but because every game is a cup final for us whether Tamworth or Oxford.
-
We're just a little non-league outfit.
Don't be taken in by all this 'massive' nonsense.
-
No mate, you're Oxford United. To us, thats massive
Its Altrincham v Oxford United on Saturday. Just seeing the posters makes me so glad to be in this league (hopefully for a lot longer)
You have to understand that when big games were against Alfreton Town for a couple of seasons, this is like an FA Cup tie to us.
-
It is wierd though.
We used to be one of the minnows of the Football League.
Now people think we're Man United. (It's a pity we don't play lke it)
What have Forest Green done to upset you?
-
Nothing really...apart from their secretary setup a secret email campaign to get all clubs to pressure the FA into turning down our appeal against the 18 point deduction last year. He also threatened the conference with legal action if they did not do "the right thing".
At the time his "full time on 900 crowds" club was in danger of having the best ground in the conference south.
His emails, sent to every club bar Altrincham, can be seen here http://ftgotg.blogspot.com/
-
Yes, I can see now why you don't like them.
It makes a refreshing change. Most people don't like us!
-
Nothing much against you too be honest, just glad to be in the Conference, although scenes at the end of our unexpected 1-1 draw with a 'few' idiots were not really needed at your place. (notice I used the word FEW so not tarnishing)
The hatred I have for FGR and Vics leaves not much left for anyone else ...
Afterall we have at least 1point v you this season and that'll do me ;D
I'm on Car Park duty at Moss Lane on Sat if you want to say 'hello'
-
Score - God knows!
Crowd - I think more than 2000, why the conservative estimates? Even my dad is going and my mum won't let him.
-
It really would be fantastic to get another crowd over the 2k mark.
I know it's not going to happen but, according to my calculations, a crowd of 2346 would take our average gate to the 1200 mark for the season! How fantastic would that be?
When was the last time we approached anything like that average? (ans: 1990/1)
Realistically, I think it will be round the 1500 mark
-
Looking at current average attendances we are not doing too bad at all.
-
A convincing 2-0 in front of 1453.
Also - Yemi wotsisname to spend the whole game diving, bringing back memories of the Eastbourne playoff final.
-

We're doing bloody fantastic - long may it continue!

I'm sure he should be called Yemi Oh You Baby! (Hope this doesn't come back to haunt me!) Having said that, I wouldn't begrudge hime a late consolation in the last minute of injury time if we were already 2-0 up at the time.

Didn't make it to Oxfor so the last time I saw Jim Smith was when he was player/manager of Boston United donkeys years ago.
Got a feeling he's going to wish he'd played himself tomorrow as the mighty robins roar home 2-1 (Colin 2, Yemi OCorblimey1)
-
oxford brought 1,700 to the new lawn but due to distance i doubt they will bring that many to alty but they have got gr8 support and i'm sure they will bring a few

crowds are up 8% on last seaons average of 1048.current average is 1148
-
1132 not 1148 apologies
-
So we are averaging 1133 (before tomo)
There are 3 teams that are below us
1121, CRAWLEY TOWN (Full time)
979, NORTHWICH VICTORIA (Pretend Part Time)
1109, SOUTHPORT (Full Time)
We are also near to a few other teams so at least it looks like no matter what come what May we won't have been the worst supporterd side in the league ;D
Vics under 1,000 must be worrying for them ?
-
1132 not 1148 apologies
Ta - have a goodwin!
Another point which needs to be made too is that our current gates mean that we're exceeding our break-even figure - as shown by the modest profit over the year we've made to date (£9k ish?)
I'm sure that there are a great many clubs whose attendances fall far short of their break even figures!
In many ways this is more important than the actual attendances comparison
Come on the Robins!
-
lets be realistic here,Yes we are on a very good run at the moment and do look sharp but oxford are 2nd in the league and play some good football.Oxford will want to get back on track against us and after morecambe where the players put 100% into everything, today could be a struggle. But i hope alty can keep it going and grind out a good result .i would be delighted with a draw but i am expecting the worst,(always do with alty)
-
Well 1497,thats good enough methinks.I'd say about 300 from Oxford with another 50 or so in the stand, making about 1100 from Alty.If only we can get those 1100 on Tuesday ::)
-
3rd highest attendance in the league ,i see 8)
-
Average over the 1150 mark again!
That's excellent.
-
Does anyone know the official away end attendance?
It would be interesting to see just how many 'home' fans turned up on the back of our good run.
-
Somebody on a previous thread said around 300 in the 20/20 and 50 in the stand but that seemed a bit short of the mark to me. (I'm pretty sure that was a guesstimate rather than the official figure.)
I would have guessed at around 450-500 altogether from Oxford which still gives a healthy 950-1000 figure for our fans.
-
Northwich had 450 in the Chequers End, Oxford certainly had a good few less than Northwich did.
-
I agree Jimmy. There definitely wasn't 450+ in the Chequers End, more like 300 or so. I was disappointed they didn't bring more.
-
Yes, that's true.
That being the case it means that our proportion was even higher - which makes predictions for Tuesday of 700ish pretty gloomy.
-
377 in the away terrace on Saturday. Judging from the amount who went up in the stand after each goal i'd say about another 30 or so there. Add to that the lads who sponsored the game were all Oxford fans and seemed to have a nice time as well as contributing greatly to the bar sales. If those lads are reading this. Cheers fella, hope you had a good day, safe journey home and see you next year hopefully.
So about 450-500 Oxford, would prob have been about 150 more had they not had the stuffing knocked out of them in the last 2 fixtures.
950 Alty therefore, a lot of ours who can't make it up for midweek games will be missing. No champs lge tho so maybe 600 or so on tuesday plus whatever Grays bring, which could be negligable to be fair to them.
-
I would really be hoping for more than 600.
I can't make it but I would imagine Grays will bring 20(ish). We haven't had anything below 800 so would be very disappointed at anything below 700. (680 Alty Fans minimum I would hope for.)

No, nor the CSC game v Chester
