Losing at Rotherham at half time :D
-
two new managers face to face. Rotherham were going perfectly well with Le Fondre and Ellison managed by Ronnie Moore, then pop they loan out Kevin to Bradford and it went downhilll from there. Hope they win tonight though!
-
YOU MILLERS!
-
Two nil now
-
ROTHERHAM WILL BOTHER 'EM
-
BOOOOOOOOM!
-
A goal for dagenham and Plymouth will send them bottom
-
3- 1.
MILLERS MILLERS MILLERS!!!
-

-
Daggers 2-1 up
-
3-2...
-
I'm hoping this thread runs until their relegation is confirmed! Go on the daggers!
-
Is Nicky Dawes still part of the team at Rotherham?
-
2-2 balls
-
Bigger picture though is Barnet's next game is away at Macc, don't want Barnet to go into that one bereft of confidence.
-
Plymouth equalise
-
4!!!!! we need more goals
-
Greeeeeeeen army!!
-
Barnet 2-2 daggers
-
A goal for daggers now and Macc are bottom - 92nd!!!

Bobbins, Hereford one down
-
I think I will go to Barnet v Macc
-
It's at Macc on Friday night. Up the Bees!
-
Nice little late winner for Northampton at Burton
-

Oh, well scrub that. I'm sure someone said on Saturday that a Barnet game was on the cards.
-
shame about the Port Vale winner but Macc are heading in the right direction - down.
-
I think I mentioned that if Macc could get relegated then when they play away at Southend on the last day of their season (if we don't make the play offs) then that would be a possible London Alty day out. Fingers crossed.....

Yes that was it
-
I've got a horrible feeling that Hereford and Dag & Red are absolutely gash and will save them.
-
Daggers have taken 4/6 in two huge relegation six pointers in the last 4 days which suggests they might have something about them. Hereford I can see your point though. What I would say though is that Horton has been sacked by Mac once before now for a reason....
-
Nice to see you are all creaming yourselves at Macc's misfortunes after 15 years without a proper competitive game between us
Most of our younger supporters don't even know who you lot their parents are :P
There. Corrected that for you. :)

Do you realise how silly you look registering on here within minutes of you dropping into the bottom 2 of the football league to say that? You should go on wraggs to riches and tell your other 700 fans about it!
-
I've had a read of their forum after that link was posted....
The fact you wanted a firm made me laugh.... Just because Macc station appears for 15s in Green street :D

Who's going in the Barnet end on friday?

Could we see a zub 1000 crowd there that night? Horton will get them going sadly :'(
Just think Hereford and the Daggers will be the teams to drop

The Silkmen take on Barnet on Friday night at 7.45pm in a crunch clash at the Moss Rose and the club are hoping for a good atmosphere in the Maclesfield Audi Star Lane End by inviting 600 kids from local schools to the game.

Can imagine they're absolutely thrilled.
-
I have a strong connection with Plymouth Argyle, and nothing would give me greater pleasure than seeing them stay up at Maccs expense.
Don't actually think it will happen though.

1. The link was posted on our board so I came and had a look
2. We aren't in the bottom 2 of the football league

All that is is a bunch of 12/13 year old kids who are getting giddy at the thought of a flare appearing at the Moss
please no, not the " MACC TOWN ULTRAS "

Cooked? Are Macc turning into Cannibal.....

Who's going in the Barnet end on friday?
There will probably be less Alty fans in the Barnet end than there were at Moss Lane in '91. ;)

One huge difference between the clubs.
-
Imagine...........
Macc get relegated - very much on the cards.
Alty get promoted - slim chance
But imagine how awesome that would be for everyone who hate Macc with a passion.
I dont like Northwich, purely because they are local and nothing more, but I detest with every part of my body Macc sheep sha&&ing scum.
-
Eventually we will fall back into non league as there are many clubs in the conference much bigger than we are and it's inevitable.
How odd? I always thought you got relegated generally for being crap, not because teams in the league below were a bit bigger?
-
Eventually we will fall back into non league as there are many clubs in the conference much bigger than we are and it's inevitable.
However for now, I am happy knowing that we have had a good solid period of time as a well established football league club and have the chance for it to continue whereas Alty will never achieve what we have and will be forever bitter thinking what if..
Never? Serious word that me ol' china. I'd NEVER have put money on Wigan staying in the prem so long. I'd NEVER have put money on AFC Wimbledon making it back into the league so quickly. I'd NEVER have put money on Nick Clegg being Deputy PM - but they all happened.
Silly chap, back into your hovel.
p.s. I also have an awful feeling that there are two worse teams then you. Weird, but it looks like there are.
-
Alty will never achieve what we have and will be forever bitter thinking what if..
No, not really. I mean, yes of course we harbour ambitions to somehow rekindle our past glories, but if we don't reach those lofty heights I won't be getting all bitter about it. I think most people at our club are quite switched on to the fact that being a top non league club is (for now at least) the best and most realistic thing for us to aim for. That in itself is a huge undertaking as things stand....
-
it's a sweet feeling knowing that macclesfield, accrington and all the other clubs who gained entry to the football league owe altrincham FC everything...a huge debt of gratitude is obligated onto macclesfield's shoulders toward their bitter rival because we opened the door for you, bravely knocking whilst all around cowered under the guises of being totally crap...fearful of the rejection.....once alty had opened the door for you all, past you rudely barged to where you could not be arsed even trying until promotion was guaranteed.
We were the pioneers....the brave alty lads of the sixties and seventies who went for the glory of winning and the glory of winning alone and not for any guaranteed bonus of promotion....and where you then sheep shaggers...eh?...selling us your best players to stay in business that's where!
The inconvenient truth of it all is, Macclesfield would not be where they are today without Alty's massive success.....and God are they bitter about that!

Great post, and so say all of us!
-
If you could give us any advice on filling out them grant applications forms (but without getting rumbled this time) that would be great.
-
Thanks for that Jezza - we really appreciate all you did for us! Shame that opportunity will never come knocking again for you eh?
You'll just have to look back to your past glory's and think what if lads? what if? :'(
I'm in total awe of what Macc have achieved in the big Fourth division.....
-

And if you could just point us in the direction of how to embezzle funds out of a company so that we can buy promotion that would be helpful too, don't panic if it leads to suicide or owt like that. Then the grant fiddling to maintainleague status as well.
Actually, not much to be proud of really is there?, even less to be bitter about come to think of it...
p.s. You know you want to be in the GMVC playing us really.
-
I'm in total awe of what Macc have achieved in the big Fourth division.....
What we have achieved is that we have made ourselves into a well established football league club for the past 15 years. We have been promoted to the 3rd tier of English football (albeit for not very long) and have also made the playoffs of League 2. Despite not seeming that impressive in the eyes of most football league clubs - it's a hell of a lot better than you have ever done or ever will for that matter.
On the subject of grant fiddling - it seems a subject you lot are rather obsessed about? It really hurt you didn't it that we got away with poor management of the club a long time ago? Such a shame.
Can't see us falling into any sort of financial issues again either I'm sorry to say - we live within our means whereas a lot in the division do not and have not in the past. You should know about that though: being saved from relegation time and time again. Back where you belong now though, playing teams like Vauxhall Motors and teams that struggle to get attendances of 200.
And that is your future too I'm afraid

Depends on how you interpret "well established".
All the cheating of funds etc aside.
15 years out of 130 years of football existence.
I doubt you are on the tip of many tongues when football is mentioned.
I'm talking about experience and I'm sure a wet Tuesday night in Rochdale is not the holy grail you would like to make it out to be.
-
It is potentially our future as we know we are currently punching above our weight - at least we have had our fair share of time in the league.
Those 15 years are the most recent 15 years in our history so it is it quite relevant.
Good luck with the rest of the season *cough* *cough*. I will be back at the end of the season no matter what the outcome :-*
Indeed enjoy it, I just hope it is enjoyable as I can tell you our last 5 years in the Conf were overly enjoyable.
I may well be shot for that statement for many reasons but hey ho, don't get me wrong I hope we meet soon and our team rip yours a new arse hole. ;D

They won't win tomorrow as I've made them the first bet in my perm at 11-10. I never get Friday night results right ::)
-
If there is one thing guaranteed to save macc from relegation it is putting an official macc relegation watch thread on our forum.
So not only do the sheep shaggers owe us for getting into the FL in the first place....they owe us for keeping them up there as well ;D.
Football league fixture macc v accrington att 1096.....ffs at least you could show the FL a bit of respect!!!!
-
0-0 at HT at the milkmen.
Huge 45 minutes to go now, come on you Beeeeeeeees!
-
Barnet missed a sitter from 6 yards apparently
Barnet player has been on the pitch 7-8 minutes after HT, with head or neck injury
FT 0-0
-
I'll take that all day. That's 1/6 for them against Daggers and Barnet in the last week.
I note 3/4 of their next games are against sides in or around the Play Offs, their long overdue and deserved relegation is very much on after tonight.

16 games without a win and last win was last year, 31st dec
-
7 games to go:-
4 are against teams in either the auto. promotion spots are in contention for a playoff spot - Gillingham, Shrewsbury, Crewe and Southend.
2 against teams currently on the edge of the relegation zone - Bradford and Burton Albion.
that is a damn hard run-in for them.

those are my two tips to go down yeah. sorry...

Another super show by the Macc lads for their 39 (THIRTY NINE) travelling supporters at Gillingham yesterday.
Next up 4th place Shrewsbury on Friday at Moss Rose.
Their relegation odds have come in bigtime over the last week and they are now odds on to go down.
Full steam ahead for relegation now. Oh yes.
-
I have been told they once took single figures to Birmingham for a league cup match, about 10 years go. Could that be true??
-
Surely they can't turn it round now only six games left
-

They have not a league game since December. To get out of it now they will need at least 3 wins out of 6, more likely 4. Not likely.

A big night tonight at Underhill as Paolo Di Canio's champions elect Swindon Town take on the Bees. This is Barnet's game in hand on the milkmen.
Barnet are 3 points ahead of Macc but with much worse GD so if they somehow could gain a point that would be a big boost.
Up the Bees.

I'd like to apologise now to the Barnet lads for jumping up and down at the bottom of Moss Lane bridge as there team coach went through Alty town centre in 1991. I was young and wish you all the best tonight.

I hope we can play Macc in the FA Trophy some day, if we can get through the qualifiers.

In ten years time they just might have to get through the qualifiers themselves in order to play US ! Think long-term positive !
-
Are we all joining the Shrewsbury Town supporters in the away end at the Moss Rose on Friday evening then....?
-
I just wished we had stayed up last season, the chance of playing Macc and Stockport in the same season would be awesome.

no arguments from me on that. County at home in the league would be mega, even better in BSP.
-
One more nail tonight along with some other bad results around them,
Oh and Northampton has just scored in stoppage time to hopefully beat penalty missing Poxford!!
This usually happens to us.

I suppose when you're facing the inevitable, it's only natural to seek solace in rubbishing your lesser rivals - which we have to admit we are......FOR NOW ! ! !
-
Pity they're using all those best insults up on the internet, plenty of time to make them in person in the coming years.
-
To cheer everyone up Macc actually put a penalty over the bar when it was 0-0 at Port Vale. ;D
With Barnet also losing very much as you were at the bottom of L2. In form promotion chasers Crewe Alex the next visitors to the Moss Rose on Saturday. Barnet at home to Hereford on Friday night, Barnet's big chance to put some daylight between themselves and the milkmen...
-
Yep, it's two from three now so let's hope the sheep fiddlers keep up their current dreadful form for another 4 matches!
-
Tempted with a trip to Barnet on Friday night
-
Is it a case of lets take the piss out of Macc because they are having (only just) a worse season than us?
-
Is it a case of lets take the piss out of Macc because they are having (only just) a worse season than us?
They haven't won a league game since December 28th and if the sides around them weren't so bad they would have been doomed weeks ago. I dread to think about this place if that was the case with us. Lee Sinnott's head would probably be on a pike on Moss Lane bridge.
-

Yep, and if I have to go 5 miles to take a slice of it I don't see it as much of a chore
-

I'd be gloating a hell of a lot more if we were doing well.
-
Never thought I'd cheer on Port Vale. Winner scored by ex Alty trialist Adam Yates. :)
Altho I must say I still think Barnet and Hereford will go down. Friday's match ia a nailed on draw btw.
-
Plymouth 45
Bradford 44
Barnet 42
Macc 40
Hereford 38
But Bradford get a 5 point deduction for defending themselves against Crawley scummers...

Macc's home game against Crewe by the same token Ballers is a nailed on away win. My Crewe mate says they have been top class over the last two months. They haven't lose a league game in 12.

They haven't won a league game since December 28th
Uncanny echoes there of Alty's 1996/97 GMVC relegation season.
After defeating Bromsgrove Rovers 3-0 at Moss Lane on Saturday, 28th December 1996, we didn't win another league game until a 4-3 home victory over Kettering Town on Saturday, 26th April 1997.
-
Brian Horton was extremely miffed off in our boardroom on Saturday. Apparently the players were unable to understand why he had dragged them in for extra training on the Saturday morning...
-
Take a look at the table while you can guys - just in case they don't get T**tted by Crewe tomorrow. Oh deep joy !
-
Do you realise how silly you look registering on here within minutes of you dropping into the bottom 2 of the football league to say that?
1. The link was posted on our board so I came and had a look
2. We aren't in the bottom 2 of the football league
The fact you wanted a firm made me laugh.... Just because Macc station appears for 15s in Green street :D
All that is is a bunch of 12/13 year old kids who are getting giddy at the thought of a flare appearing at the Moss
From where I'm now looking you're in the bottom one of the Football League.

I for one hope Macc stay up,good luck to em.

i dare say you are on your own and are asking for abuse
-
and theres the goal we've been waiting for
-
Back to 2-2 now
-
Finished 2-2, but they're still in deep s@%t
-
No wins in twenty they have burton at home soon though, prob need to win two of last three or a win and two draws
-
my fat belly feeling is they'll stay up, probably on goal difference. booooo.
-
From where I'm now looking you're in the bottom one of the Football League.
Looks almost certain now I'm afraid which is a shame as Alty look fantastic at the moment..
:D :D
-
They better not got away with it this time surely they wont
-
It's just the fact the teams around them seem to be just as dreadful really, I bet Barnet will slip up and Macc will end up staying up on the last day ::)
-
Barnet are terrible. I expect Macc to stay up comforably to be honest. :P
-
as the price is right use to say MACC TOWN come on down , HAHAHA
-
Barnet are terrible. I expect Macc to stay up comforably to be honest. :P
Agreed, I also have a gut feeling that they will escape but would like to see them finish bottom. Pity there derbies next season will be against County not us.
-
Barnet sack lawrie Sanchez and get Martin "Mad Dog" Allen in as manager for their final 3 games.
-
Can't help but think they will get out of it on the last day.
There must be a grant they can fiddle somewhere..

I believe they've been in touch with Peake about a consultancy.

Good result for macc tonight
-
Good result for macc tonight
tho Barnet were always going to struggle to get anything at Sarfend
-
Two games left after todays loss although one of them is burton, games running out
-
Barnet also have to play Burton though, plus the similarly 'not much to play for' Wimbledon. On paper at least, you'd have to make Macc and Hereford big favourites for the drop but I still have this horrible feeling...
London Alty trip to Southend on May 5th very much on the cards. I'd say.
-
Please please please have your Alty day out at Southend in May. I'm sure you will all be welcomed with open arms!
P.S Dont forget your colours ;D
We'll probably have more there than the sheep slayers!
-
I'm sure you will with the thousands you take away from home.. how I wish we were as big as you :-\
You never know, you maybe one day. Just keep fiddling those grants.
-
I'm sure you will with the thousands you take away from home.. how I wish we were as big as you :-\
Think we took as many to Eastwood today in a dead rubber game as you took to a recent away fixture.
You'll miraculously stay up on the last day so we'll not order the plane to fly past just yet.
-
Macc will beat burton and get a point at southend I fear staying up on goal diff
-
Macc will beat burton and get a point at southend I fear staying up on goal diff
I can see them beating Burton to take it to the last day but then it all depends whether Southend can still go up as they're already safely in the play offs.
-
I seem to think that Macc actually have a decent record at Roots Hall.........................
-
A Good Day all round.
Alty win away 6-1
Vics hammered 4-1
Macc smack bottom of the League
Rochdale relegated
Macc fans should be more interested in attending Southend themselves than London Alty going as both sets will be able to boast they were at the very last game Macc ever played in the Football League.
-
Is there not a danger though that Southend may take their foot off the gas having already secured their play off place?
Barnet will lose both games so all they need is one win. I'm sure they did something similar in 92/93 the day we were at Farnborough.
MTFC or Silkyman will correct me but I think a guy called Roy Green got a winner for them at Wycombe (already champions) which kept them up?

There's a real danger of that one. If Crawley win on Saturday, Southend will be left in the position of no automatic promotion, and a guaranteed home advantage in the play offs !
-
Roy Green. Goal machine!
-
I know Macc were our rivals along with Wigan, but i can remember when Macc played at Fulham in the FA Cup,most Alty fans were hoping Macc could win, sadley they lost 4-2 i think it was.None of this i hope they get hammered stuff you see here.So Crewe are the only Cheshire side left in the Football league after this season?
-
Most of their older fans still see alty as their main rivals they have had a few close escapes in recent years and deserve to go down
-

I remember it too. I don't remember being sorry they lost - or many other people I stood around feeling that way either.

Tranmere Rovers ? Still members of the Cheshire FA I think.
-
Ah forgot Tranmere
-
22 Barnet. 44 -32 40
23 Hereford United 44 -24 38
24 Macclesfield Town 44 -21 37
If Macc win, it will go to the final day - regardless of other results
If Macc draw, and Barnet don't win it goes to the final day - Barnet win would send them down
If Macc lose and Barnet draw they are down or Hereford Win
-
Thanks for clearing that up for us. ;)
-
May I be the first to welcome Macc back down to the non-league pyramid xxx
-
2 seasons time - alty, stockport and macc all in conference heres hoping
-
And Wyscombe shank it late on to get closer to their old deserving home
-
MACC RELEGATED!
-
MACC are in a better situation than Vics - at the moment ;D
-
What a glorious day. They'll never play in the FL ever again.
-
What a glorious day. They'll never play in the FL ever again.
I wonder if London Alty are still going to witness Macc's last ever game as a League Club. I hope Sarfend go up instead of Crooked Crawley.
-
Back in non league where they belong. Delightful news and the cherry on the cake is they are certain to finish bottom as well! :D
-
ha ha ha ha
the sheep are in for a beating tonight.
-
MACC are in a better situation than Vics - at the moment ;D
I'm skint, owe loads of people money, got kicked out of my home by a vengeful partner - but I've no connection to Jim Rushe, so even I'M in a better position than Vics.
So are Macc - but it's not really saying very much is it ?
-
What a glorious day. They'll never play in the FL ever again.
Whereas you might not even make it to the Conference again.
We managed 15 years in the League. How have you done up there?
-

Lend us your Cheat's Manual and we might get chance to find out. Though frankly such tedious behaviour is beneath our dignity.

Cheats?
How's that then?
-
Cheats?
How's that then?
Is that a serious question?
-
Macc have scraped the bottom of the barrel for many a year now and their relegation is completely deserved.
Their ludicrious level of smugness is largely down to the fact that for most of the last 15 years they played in a 24 team league where only one team got relegated ( usually a financial basket case). A vile bunch of backwards inbred sheep bothering retards, SCUM.
-
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
-
Today was inevitable & Southend should be a good final day out in the league.
However the grant fiddling you lot are so obsessed with had nothing to do with our promotion to the football league. We had already spent a substantial amount of time in the league before it ever became an issue. The last time Alty had a team who looked anyway near good enough to being football league standard was over 30 years ago and it pains you so much to know you will never, ever achieve what Macc have.
Good luck next year - you are going to need it with teams like Chester coming up.
Your correct, it was the bloke that spent all his companies money then blew his head off that laid the foundations for Macclesfields tilt at league football, the grant fiddling came later welcome home.

I dont think even you (if you are old enough to remember) would begrudge the fact that 'when we were Kings' the only reason why we didnt make it to the football league was because we were cheated out of a place. In those days you were in a division below us. We were also a better non-league club than Wigan when they conveniently got promoted when they werent even champions. As you can see cheating at this levl has gone on in some form for years, not an invention by the likes of you, Vics, Crawley, Southampton ect...
-
what are the chances of dropping through the bsp into bsn stockport and lincoln nearly did and they are bigger clubs my guess is they are coming down with loads of debt from trying to postpone the inevitable
-
Might not get to play them for some time, as they will get relegated again, as we go back to BSP. ;D ;D
Still, there's always the Trophy?
Book your places for the party in 12 months time.

I loathe Macc Town - I want to be clear about that at the start of this post.
Putting aside the dodgy finances for a minute (how many clubs are squeaky clean?)
Macc Town survived in the footy league for at least 10 years longer than I expected. They gained promotion to the 3rd tier. They played the likes of Man City, Stoke and Fulham in the league. They gained respect from other clubs watching as they got by on 1500-1800 gates at home. As I say I loathe them but I will acknowledge that they beat expectations.
I don't expect them to go straight through to BSN, I doubt they'll make the play-offs, I do expect them to be permanent residents of the BSP.
Normal service is now resumed from York Alty. Piss off you Macc bastards...
-
Brian Horton was on £5,000 a week and a reward of £50,000 if he keep them up!
And I thought Twiss was waste of money.
-

I actually think they'll do ok in the BSP, being a traditional non league club that they are. THey aren't in financial meltdown, they just weren't good enough to stay up so they should be able to at least stabilise.
And I agree that maybe we should sort ourselves out a bit instead of gloating at Macc, but well.... it is joyous to behold let's be fookin honest!
;D
-
Maybe chalmers and wedgbury will be available ?

I doubt either would consider dropping to BSN at this point.

“@BBCSport: Macc Town sack manager Brian Horton following relegation from Football League after a 15 year stay.” hmm who could be new one?😉
-
I thought he quit?
Apparently said he didn't want to be a NL manager
-
I read somewhere they wanted a manager with experience of the Conference, hmm, could be a gig for Jim Harvey there?
-
Or Mr Heathcote,sw

He has a job as head groundsman at Altrincham boys Grammer is what i have heard

I've just seen Burton Albion's second goal at Macc on Saturday via the BBC North West local news....and it really is an example of farce of the highest order.
If Lee Sinnott didn't manage to put a smile on my face this season, well, at least Macc's goalkeeper has.
Well worth watching on Late Kick Off on BBC One at 11.05pm this evening.....

It did cross my mind, but I couldn't see it to be honest.

Having said that isn't GH a Freeman of Altrincham? That title usually allows one to herd sheep through the streets, could be his big chance at last! ;D
-
During this season he was working, at least part time, as a scout for Tranmere Rovers.
-
GHs name did cross my mind too. plenty of experience at the level and the area. think they'll be looking for someone with promotions from the BSP experience.

Don't be cross, but he did a great job at Wrexham and an even better one at Doncaster! ;)

GH would get them out of BSP though, although perhaps not in the direction they would have wanted. ;)

I love the timing of Southends second goal. Almost the last action of their league history was to concede a goal. I LOVE that!
-
Nine games, no wins. Is it too early to bring back this classic thread...?

Funny that. won to nil after being behind at half time ?
Dartford are barely better than Hyde.....don't start getting giddy on the strength of THAT result.

Bust by June

Shows the quality of the team to come from being behind at half time and score 3. Forgot to mention they knocked 4 past Swindon the week before ;)

Shouldn't you be shaking buckets outside Poundland?
-
No doubt jennings will be back at scunny soon ?
-
Jennings will be on his way in Jan and will be a great loss.... he's a natural in front of goal and has a great future. It takes more than one to make a team and they are working hard and creating loads of chances so I'm sure they will build on their recent success.
Back to Poundland now...... ::)
-
If they keep Jennings they will make playoffs if not finish about 14th so yes one man may not make a team they make a huge diffrence
-
Getting tedious now. Macc will stay up, not because they're any great shakes, but because there are actually some really poor teams in Skrill Premier (eg Dartford)
-
...and Hyde...
-
Lets hope they stay up and we go up!
Otherwise they come down and we stay down! (for a year) 8)
