two new managers face to face.  Rotherham were going perfectly well with Le Fondre and Ellison managed by Ronnie Moore, then pop they loan out Kevin to Bradford and it went downhilll from there.  Hope they win tonight though!

I think I mentioned that if Macc could get relegated then when they play away at Southend on the last day of their season (if we don't make the play offs) then that would be a possible London Alty day out. Fingers crossed.....

Daggers have taken 4/6 in two huge relegation six pointers in the last 4 days which suggests they might have something about them. Hereford I can see your point though. What I would say though is that Horton has been sacked by Mac once before now for a reason....

The Silkmen take on Barnet on Friday night at 7.45pm in a crunch clash at the Moss Rose and the club are hoping for a good atmosphere in the Maclesfield Audi Star Lane End by inviting 600 kids from local schools to the game.

But imagine how awesome that would be for everyone who hate Macc with a passion.

Eventually we will fall back into non league as there are many clubs in the conference much bigger than we are and it's inevitable.

How odd? I always thought you got relegated generally for being crap, not because teams in the league below were a bit bigger?

Eventually we will fall back into non league as there are many clubs in the conference much bigger than we are and it's inevitable.

However for now, I am happy knowing that we have had a good solid period of time as a well established football league club and have the chance for it to continue whereas Alty will never achieve what we have and will be forever bitter thinking what if..

Never?  Serious word that me ol' china.  I'd NEVER have put money on Wigan staying in the prem so long.  I'd NEVER have put money on AFC Wimbledon making it back into the league so quickly. I'd NEVER have put money on Nick Clegg being Deputy PM - but they all happened.

Silly chap, back into your hovel.

p.s. I also have an awful feeling that there are two worse teams then you. Weird, but it looks like there are.

No, not really. I mean, yes of course we harbour ambitions to somehow rekindle our past glories, but if we don't reach those lofty heights I won't be getting all bitter about it. I think most people at our club are quite switched on to the fact that being a top non league club is (for now at least) the best and most realistic thing for us to aim for. That in itself is a huge undertaking as things stand....

it's a sweet feeling knowing that macclesfield, accrington and all the other clubs who gained entry to the football league owe altrincham FC everything...a huge debt of gratitude is obligated onto macclesfield's shoulders toward their bitter rival because we opened the door for you, bravely knocking whilst all around cowered under the guises of being totally crap...fearful of the rejection.....once alty had opened the door for you all, past you rudely barged to where you could not be arsed even trying until promotion was guaranteed.

We were the pioneers....the brave alty lads of the sixties and seventies who went for the glory of winning and the glory of winning alone and not for any guaranteed bonus of promotion....and where you then sheep shaggers...eh?...selling us your best players to stay in business that's where!

The inconvenient truth of it all is, Macclesfield would not be where they are today without Alty's massive success.....and God are they bitter about that!

And if you could just point us in the direction of how to embezzle funds out of a company so that we can buy promotion that would be helpful too, don't panic if it leads to suicide or owt like that. Then the grant fiddling to maintainleague status as well.

Actually, not much to be proud of really is there?, even less to be bitter about come to think of it...

What we have achieved is that we have made ourselves into a well established football league club for the past 15 years. We have been promoted to the 3rd tier of English football (albeit for not very long) and have also made the playoffs of League 2. Despite not seeming that impressive in the eyes of most football league clubs - it's a hell of a lot better than you have ever done or ever will for that matter.

On the subject of grant fiddling - it seems a subject you lot are rather obsessed about? It really hurt you didn't it that we got away with poor management of the club a long time ago? Such a shame.

Can't see us falling into any sort of financial issues again either I'm sorry to say - we live within our means whereas a lot in the division do not and have not in the past. You should know about that though: being saved from relegation time and time again. Back where you belong now though, playing teams like Vauxhall Motors and teams that struggle to get attendances of 200.
And that is your future too I'm afraid

Depends on how you interpret "well established".

All the cheating of funds etc aside.

15 years out of 130 years of football existence.

I doubt you are on the tip of many tongues when football is mentioned.

I'm talking about experience and I'm sure a wet Tuesday night in Rochdale is not the holy grail you would like to make it out to be.

It is potentially our future as we know we are currently punching above our weight - at least we have had our fair share of time in the league.

Those 15 years are the most recent 15 years in our history so it is it quite relevant.

Good luck with the rest of the season *cough* *cough*. I will be back at the end of the season no matter what the outcome :-*

Indeed enjoy it, I just hope it is enjoyable as I can tell you our last 5 years in the Conf were overly enjoyable.

I may well be shot for that statement for many reasons but hey ho, don't get me wrong I hope we meet soon and our team rip yours a new arse hole.  ;D

If there is one thing guaranteed to save macc from relegation it is putting an official macc relegation watch thread on our forum.

So not only do the sheep shaggers owe us for getting into the FL in the first place....they owe us for keeping them up there as well  ;D.

Football league fixture macc v accrington att 1096.....ffs at least you could show the FL a bit of respect!!!!

Barnet missed a sitter from 6 yards apparently

Barnet player has been on the pitch 7-8 minutes after HT, with head or neck injury

FT 0-0

I'll take that all day. That's 1/6 for them against Daggers and Barnet in the last week.

I note 3/4 of their next games are against sides in or around the Play Offs, their long overdue and deserved relegation is very much on after tonight.

I've no doubt they will beat barnet tomoz and the annual revival will follow
They won't win tomorrow as I've made them the first bet in my perm at 11-10. I never get Friday night results right  ::)
If anyone would like to sub me for the next few weeks, I'll back them to win every game. That should ensure their rightful spot in BSP next season  ;D

7 games to go:-

4 are against teams in either the auto. promotion spots are in contention for a playoff spot - Gillingham, Shrewsbury, Crewe and Southend.

2 against teams currently on the edge of the relegation zone - Bradford and Burton Albion.

that is a damn hard run-in for them.

Another super show by the Macc lads for their 39 (THIRTY NINE) travelling supporters at Gillingham yesterday.

Next up 4th place Shrewsbury on Friday at Moss Rose.

Their relegation odds have come in bigtime over the last week and they are now odds on to go down.

Full steam ahead for relegation now. Oh yes.

A big night tonight at Underhill as Paolo Di Canio's champions elect Swindon Town take on the Bees. This is Barnet's game in hand on the milkmen.

Barnet are 3 points ahead of Macc but with much worse GD so if they somehow could gain a point that would be a big boost.

Up the Bees.

They haven't won a league game since December 28th and if the sides around them weren't so bad they would have been doomed weeks ago. I dread to think about this place if that was the case with us. Lee Sinnott's head would probably be on a pike on Moss Lane bridge.

Uncanny echoes there of Alty's 1996/97 GMVC relegation season.

After defeating Bromsgrove Rovers 3-0 at Moss Lane on Saturday, 28th December 1996, we didn't win another league game until a 4-3 home victory over Kettering Town on Saturday, 26th April 1997.

A Good Day all round.
Alty win away 6-1
Vics hammered 4-1
Macc smack bottom of the League
Rochdale relegated

Macc fans should be more interested in attending Southend themselves than London Alty going as both sets will be able to boast they were at the very last game Macc ever played in the Football League.

Is there not a danger though that Southend may take their foot off the gas having already secured their play off place?

Barnet will lose both games so all they need is one win. I'm sure they did something similar in 92/93 the day we were at Farnborough.

MTFC or Silkyman will correct me but I think a guy called Roy Green got a winner for them at Wycombe (already champions) which kept them up?

Is there not a danger though that Southend may take their foot off the gas having already secured their play off place?

Barnet will lose both games so all they need is one win. I'm sure they did something similar in 92/93 the day we were at Farnborough.

MTFC or Silkyman will correct me but I think a guy called Roy Green got a winner for them at Wycombe (already champions) which kept them up?
There's a real danger of that one. If Crawley win on Saturday, Southend will be left in the position of no automatic promotion, and a guaranteed home advantage in the play offs !

I know Macc were our rivals along with Wigan, but i can remember when Macc played at Fulham in the FA Cup,most Alty fans were hoping Macc could win, sadley they lost 4-2 i think it was.None of this i hope they get hammered stuff you see here.So Crewe are the only Cheshire side left in the Football league after this season?

22   Barnet.               44   -32   40
23   Hereford United   44   -24   38
24   Macclesfield Town   44   -21   37

If Macc win, it will go to the final day - regardless of other results

If Macc draw, and Barnet don't win it goes to the final day - Barnet win would send them down

If Macc lose and Barnet draw they are down or Hereford Win

Macc have scraped the bottom of the barrel for many a year now and their relegation is completely deserved.

Their ludicrious level of smugness is largely down to the fact that for most of the last 15 years they played in a 24 team league where only one team got relegated ( usually a financial basket case). A vile bunch of backwards inbred sheep bothering retards, SCUM.

Today was inevitable & Southend should be a good final day out in the league.

However the grant fiddling you lot are so obsessed with had nothing to do with our promotion to the football league.  We had already spent a substantial amount of time in the league before it ever became an issue. The last time Alty had a team who looked anyway near good enough to being football league standard was over 30 years ago and it pains you so much to know you will never, ever achieve what Macc have.

Good luck next year - you are going to need it with teams like Chester coming up.

Your correct, it was the bloke that spent all his companies money then blew his head off that laid the foundations for Macclesfields tilt at league football, the grant fiddling came later  welcome home.

I dont think even you (if you are old enough to remember) would begrudge the fact that 'when we were Kings' the only reason why we didnt make it to the football league was because we were cheated out of a place. In those days you were in a division below us. We were also a better non-league club than Wigan when they conveniently got promoted when they werent even champions. As you can see cheating at this levl has gone on in some form for years, not an invention by the likes of you, Vics, Crawley, Southampton ect...

I loathe Macc Town - I want to be clear about that at the start of this post.

Putting aside the dodgy finances for a minute (how many clubs are squeaky clean?)

Macc Town survived in the footy league for at least 10 years longer than I expected.  They gained promotion to the 3rd tier.  They played the likes of Man City, Stoke and Fulham in the league.  They gained respect from other clubs watching as they got by on 1500-1800 gates at home.  As I say I loathe them but I will acknowledge that they beat expectations.

I don't expect them to go straight through to BSN, I doubt they'll make the play-offs, I do expect them to be permanent residents of the BSP.

Normal service is now resumed from York Alty.  Piss off you Macc bastards...

I actually think they'll do ok in the BSP, being a traditional non league club that they are. THey aren't in financial meltdown, they just weren't good enough to stay up so they should be able to at least stabilise.

And I agree that maybe we should sort ourselves out a bit instead of gloating at Macc, but well.... it is joyous to behold let's be fookin honest!

I've just seen Burton Albion's second goal at Macc on Saturday via the BBC North West local news....and it really is an example of farce of the highest order.

If Lee Sinnott didn't manage to put a smile on my face this season, well, at least Macc's goalkeeper has.

Well worth watching on Late Kick Off on BBC One at 11.05pm this evening.....

Jennings will be on his way in Jan and will be a great loss.... he's a natural in front of goal and has a great future. It takes more than one to make a team and they are working hard and creating loads of chances so I'm sure they will build on their recent success.
