Title: Today's team
Post by: Paul Cain's Chip Pan on March 17, 2012, 02:14:53 PM
I'm guessing the positions a bit:

                     Coburn

Densmore   Flynn  C. Lynch  Clee

Miles      Richman   Phelan    Lawrie

            Reeves   McGivern

Subs: M. Lynch, Holden, Twiss, Watmore, Reid

Was about to complain about Richman being at CM again but there's no alternative really.

0-0 15 minutes in, we seem to be playing quite well from the updates I'm getting.

Rumours that he has signed for Stalybridge.

Complete travesty. We have had 7 corners to there none and five good chances.

If we keep playing like this we will get something.

With the exception of pedestrian Miles they have worked so hard.

Not good enought a point

We couldn't have done anymore.  Three points were needed but we battered them

If we hadn't have capitulated against Bishop's Stortford last Saturday, then a draw at Boston United would have been more than acceptable.

As things stand, is a point enough in our current situation?

Who knows?!

I think Stalybridge, Gainsborough, Worcester. Guiseley and Halifax have all either lost or drawn so it's not too much of a loss overall.

I meant a point not being good enough at this stage, not the performance.

Wonder what the story was at colwyn Bay ?

They had 2 men sent off when the score was 1-0 ... and apparently that was a very dubious penalty.

We played very well today, the better side for the majority and created some good chances.

Reeves and McGivern are clearly developing a good understanding and Clee is a good solution to the left back issue for now. Lynch had a top game at CB too and for an away game we actually defended very well for a change. Watmore also really livened things up when he came on and could be a key figure for the run in.

Overall a good away day, decent point and a good atmosphere. Officials below par though and missed Lee the Boston sub elbowing Nicky Clee and Bastock taking out Richman with a blatant shoulder charge which should have been a penalty. Our recent away days in the East have seen some good football. Reasons to be optimistic for the run in definitely.

Agree with you sarf london. Alty did play well, and if they play like that most weeks then they will pick up plenty of points.

Made a change to only have a 60 mile trip to an Alty match, for me. Glad the little lad chose this match instead of Notts Co vs Sheffield Weds.
