Post by: RocketDan on October 17, 2011, 09:35:47 AM
Right everyone, time for a roll call. who's going to Stalybridge? I'll be disappointed if we take less than 250

Massive six pointer, local game - no excuses for not making the trip.

I think we will have somewhere around 350/400 as was the case at Hyde, Im hoping we can finally win a big pressure match for the first time in about 3 years....

Probably away at droylsden when we took 600, prior to that a key win at Scarborough, I should have said 6 Pointer rather than pressure game, but I don't like using that term this early.I wouldn't count grimbsy, they were already on the beach

Course we didn't.

We had about 250 there tops and we'll have the same at Stalybridge.

Its only a big game at the moment to fans in the know.

If we carry on winning like we are word will start to spread though.

bit of a walk up a hill from the station.  come out the station exit and turn right to head into town.  the ground is up a hill on the other side of the town centre up a main road.

Pub near the ground is ok but the station buffet bar is a well known and particularly good spot if you like real ales, worthy of a few and maybe a cab ride for a last pint in the pub near the ground.

From what I remember there is a car park at the ground.

I wouldn't park at the ground. There is a large(ish) car park there, but it's shared with a gym and getting out will be a nightmare.

There are loads of side streets off the main road that the ground is on, with ample parking.

As for drinking, the buffet bar is OK, but gets busy as it's on the ale trail.. There are loads of places in Stalybridge - near the station, which is about a mile away from the ground, albeit up a big hill.  The pub next to the ground is OK too.

Hoping we can take 300+

Not 100% sure, not been up there for a while. It's called the Hare & Hounds and still has a website, so my guess is that it's still open?!

I think you're right; as much as I like our ground it is beginning to show it's age a little bit. However, if we were to replace the shabby old roofs on our covered terracing and put a roof on the away end it would be a different matter altogether.

Trouble is these things cost money......

Nice to see two covered end behind the goals - lets hope if it isnt segregated, that we dont all spread out  ala Moors

I'm expecting at least 300 of us for my first away game! Packed under the away terrace, even if it's unsegregated, we need to create a good atmosphere on saturday! The roof will help.

If we took 600 to Droylsden for a relegation dogfight, I see no reason why we can't manage at least 400 for a top of the table clash at Stalybridge on the back of four straight league wins. And we've been at home three games in a row and won't play next weekend.

Let's have half the crowd and pick up the win which keeps us in touch with the leaders.

RE Bower Fold

This is my non-league favourite ground outside Altys, very picturesque in a woodland setting, can be hard to see at first from the road but I love visiting. Nice to go back again.

Every one who can get to stalybridge should go, it's an easy train journey and only a two bus journey, we will eventually win one of these games where we take hundreds, and you don't want to miss it! After Eastbourne away,FGR away, fleetwood away, Harrogate away, Hyde away, we surely are due to win one of them, so let's get there and roar the lads on on this potential 6 pointer
