Title: CLUB APPOINTMENTS
Post by: Darren on June 01, 2011, 06:42:01 PM
CLUB APPOINTMENTS
Following last week's arrival of Lee Sinnott as Altrincham FC's new manager, the Club is very pleased to announce the following appointments...
The new Assistant Manager is Neil Tolson (37), who was manager of Hyde United, (now Hyde FC), till April 2011. Neil had joined The Tigers as a player in 2003 before becoming assistant manager in 2007 and then player-manager in September, 2008.

Like Lee Sinnott, Neil was born in Walsall. As a player Neil was a striker, who topped York City's goalscoring chart for 1996–97. In non-League he has played for Leigh RMI, whom he left in January 2003 before signing for Kettering Town, but he moved on to Halifax Town shortly afterwards. He therefore brings a wealth of expertise and knowledge of the Blue Square Bet North division.

Altrincham FC is also pleased to announce that Ian Senior has been appointed as a coach, having been Alty's goalkeeping coach for several seasons.

John Skelhorn is confirmed as the Kit Manager though, as the successful manager of the Altrincham FC StTaff XI in their annual matches against the Supporters for the past two seasons, John will no doubt also offer his expertise to the coaching team!

A physiotherapist is expected to be announced shortly, with news of players being scheduled for Friday, so watch this space...

This is excellent news.

Neil Tolson has current Conference North experience and player knowledge and worked on a small budget and Hyde during a  lot of in fighting.

Ian a club man and will hopefully be cheap  ;)

Very pleased by this....I thought we would have Jonny Nobody in due to the budget.

I believe he was player manger with Hyde.

Has he hung up his boots or can we expect to see him in some sort of playing capacity as well?

Pleasing to see! Really excited now.

I guess Tolse will play if needed but won't really be near the first team.

Looking after Stuart as far as I'm aware. Looking forward to working with Lee and Neil, both very experienced at this level.

A physio is soon to be announced.
Do we know of any Yorkshire based, slightly shorter than normal players who could double up as a physio.
(He would have to promise not to get himself injured, though)

Neil tolson is a fantastic appointment in my opinion,he knows the conference north well.He has always come across really well on the gmr nonleague show on a friday night as a regular studio guest aswell.

Very pleased with the news so far !............plus the vibes from within the camp of either 'sign here' or sign-out'

As for physio's; we obviously want the best we can get for what we have to offer. Sean will be a tough act to follow, but I am sure there are plenty of qualified sports physios out there who would love to break back into the game...........b.t.w Chester Alty, Chris Senior is not a physio, however Darren Tinson is !

Chris Senior was working with the physiotherapy team at Sheffield United while he was playing for us.
I imagine this had to stop when he started at Darlington.

This is the bit I like most. This is the chance to play for Altrincham Football Club and no player is bigger than the club. If you think you're good enough to get a better offer elsewhere then you know where the door is, although I can guarantee not many - if any - will be attracting much attention after last season. More money maybe, but better club? No chance.

The players who do sign back on will be here for all the right reasons, and that can only stand us in good stead for the season.
