Team: Coates, Smith, Joseph, Williams, Densmore, Lawton, Reeves, Twiss, Baynes, Beesley, Hewson SUBS: Coburn, Denham, Clee, Brown, Danylyk

That is a very attack minded team. Baynes at wing back?
Title: Re: Tamworth match thread
Post by: Paul Cain's Chip Pan on January 18, 2011, 07:29:41 PM
Is Coburn injured then?

Title: Re: Tamworth match thread
Post by: fuertes on January 18, 2011, 07:30:34 PM
Coates eh? Decent opportunity for him to stake a claim. Let's hope he takes it.

Reeves, Baynes, Twiss Hewson and Beesley all on the pitch. Should be enough attacking talent there to cause problems for Tamuff.

If only Clee and Danham could get fit, stay fit and play half a dozen games in a row. We'd cause teams all sorts of problems. I can only assume they're not 100% since they're on the bench.

I'm not at all confident with Coates in goal.

I have a slight feeling that Hewson will really shine tonight, he'll dominate all the play.
But also, Denham comes on last for the last 20 minutes and sets up Twiss for a sensational hat-trick.
COME ON ALTYY

I think a draw would be a decent result this evening. Tamworth are a decent side with a run of form similar to ours, coupled with them being at home this is a tough fixture.

Is Reevesy becoming potential legend material?

That last goal was assisted by Wes Baynes (Pass from Right Penalty Area)

Damien Reeves hits a good header. Outcome: goal

Goal!! Damien Reeves hits a very good header to the lower left corner from the left 6 yard (aprox. 6 yards) and scores!! Altrincham now leads 1 - 0

Without wishing to sound too critical of Kenny - if he'd got more game time earlier maybe we might have got a few more results

I'd prefer barrow v g'head had a winner. I'd rather chip away at a place a time.  The higher up we go, even though in the bottom 4, the greater our chance of a win in the AGM play-off cup.

Means nowt unless we win.

Meanwhile: 2052: Half a chance to break the deadlock in south Wales - but Ryan Shotton's header from a Stoke corner drifts harmlessly over.

Pity, would love to see him make a name for himself.

The game is live on s4c if you have sky.

Or if you live in Wales.....

I wonder if it's Perry (ex Mansfield) feigning injury again like when he conned the ref with Senior?

Wouldnt surprise me, he has the previous

wouldn't matter who or what - if Joseph has done what has been described then the fault is entirely his

Good if Welch is available, but he can't be anywhere near match fit?

Surely a back 4 of Densmore (RB), Smith (CB), Williams (CB) and Perigianni/Brown (LB) would be better?

We can hold on here. Come on boys....

Not excusing him at all (especially as having not seen it), but Marc Joseph has shown very little passion, or commitment in the games i've seen this season. I'm still getting my head round the thought of him showing enough passion to lamp one of their players, so part of me is quite pleased he seems to give a damn all of a sudden. ;)

10-15 mins after the game and I have to say I'm really pleased with that result. Bring on Bath!

Totally agree with this, let's not get on his back too much, no doubt he realises the importance of his mistake tonight.

Another big game on Saturday, let's keep this unbeaten league run going with a win!

Looks like they've got a bit of fight in them after all. Good point, keeps the run going.

We've done well to come away from tonight with a point, so very pleased with that. Have only read sky score centre text commentary, but looks like we were under massive pressure after Joesph went. Obviously can't comment on the sending off, but I suspect Perry made it look worse than it was - Will wait for those at the game to comment. Let's hope that the players KM is trying to bring in, include a centre back

2 massive home games now.... Current league form suggests we're better than the bottom 4 and others around us are in free fall.. Eastbourne, Histon, Kettering.... So let's get right behind them on Sat and Tues next week.....

Just got back.  I'd have taken a point before it and I'll certainly take it after playing so long with ten men.

Not a classic display but one of total commitment and graft.

Attitude was questioned after Blyth (righly so) and it was shown tonight that we have the fight to stay up.

Every player worked so hard, chasing and closing down, a huge effort and it was rewarded with a point.

And as we've haven't got beat I dont have to return to "we're doomed" posts which is great.

Well done the lads and to Stuart and Ken who kicked every ball out there tonight.  A great team effort and great support, sang all the way through and got right behind them.,

Lots of support turning up at the ground on Saturday please.........with only one game at home since 13 Nov, 750 on Saturday will send out the wrong message to the players, especially those who were not here last season

Dead chuffed......not there, but thought it was curtains after the dismissal.....the 10 players must have battled hard to get this point tonight.....we will stay up on team spirit alone if this continues

Earlier in the season we would have lost this 4 or 5 -1. Shows how we have changed recently.

Great team effort tonight

From looking at the match report - sent off after 49, then scored at 79 - so to hold on for so long deserves credit - those 11 minutes were extremely plus the 5 minutes of stoppage time

Great atmosphere created by the tamworth fans - only sing/shout when alty get a foul/ slight cheer when we score...

I think last night showed how far we've come as a team, the fight, dertimination - when we have Clee denham now joseph carl p  back all the right results should fall into place

Nice to have a home game, after 4 away games in a row
