Title: Alty Sign Damien Reeves..
Post by: markecky on June 26, 2010, 03:09:18 PM
Always looked a good player when I have seen him and only 24 as well.

Says all the right things on the website.

Welcome Damien..

Fantastic news and a brilliant piece on the website, love that Youngy has sung our praises to him, and I hope he does well.

Welcome aboard Damian!

Good news... Welcome to the Alty family Damian and Good Luck to you

Well done Youngy for giving such a glowing recommendation...

Johnhson Twiss and Reeves seems to make good reading for our striker options

Onwards and upwards

Any one any  idea how many goals he got  in how many  games for farsley , histon , northwich and anyone else he has played for? sounds like a replacement for senior and a similar type of player.

I recall that he didn't seem particularly fond of Darren Tinson:

So, Alty Tunnel Steward will certainly like him!

Very pleased. Impressed with him. Even more pleased with Youngy persuading him, nice to know that the letters weren't lip service (not that I thought they were to be fair).

Seems to be using 'we' and 'us' a bit early but we'll let him off with that. Comes across as an honest article, reflecting views that I've held for quite a while.

And the trolling of Northwich is marvellous, he should have that printed on the back of his shirt!!

Always seemed a very dangerous player when up against us. Looks like a cracking signing - well done all involved & welcome to Moss Lane Damien.

I remember him ripping us apart for 30 mins at Farsley, then getting sent off as I recall. How much more Alty can you get? It's an exciting signing. With him, Twiss, Johnson, Denham and Clee in the side we should be good to watch, can't wait!

Spot on, he was far too fast for our defence that very wet night.
Good signing :)

True.

But, then again, 99% of all the opposition forwards were too fast for Darren Tinson and Karl Munroe during that particular season!

How are we meant to wait until the middle of August to watch Alty again?
I seriously cannot wait for next season now, every day is one step nearer I suppose!!

Have to say, never been his biggest fan. I think he has massive potential - pace especially, but will reserve judgement for now. I think based on his enthusiasm in his interview i'm optimistic, but in the games i've seen him play, he's been larthargic and a bit disinterested. To be fair though he hasn't made the best decisions - Farsley, Vics, Telford !!!

Good luck Damien.

Nobody seems to have said well done to Graham and the Board for securing another signing of real potential quality. In my mind that's Chrissie and Colin replaced with players who have real potential to go and do good things for us.

Let me be the first to say, on this thread, thank you to Graham and the Board for securing what looks like another very good signing.

Not withstanding what may or may not have happened before, is this the season we restart the Graham Heathcote chants on the terraces?

It should have been LAST season. And maybe it's time we had a "Graham and Kenny" song in our repertoire !

Great news indeed, always rated him.

So thats the forward line sorted, but we still need a centre back, two midfielders (or one midfielder and a right back).

crowell and chalmers would be  nice but unlikely signings , just one of them would be great

No one on here will know that...you can guarantee they will be within the budget.  I'd say he'd probably take over whatever Senior was getting..

Well it'll be nothing like Nelthorpe's getting at Gateshead (OR, for that matter, what Damien himself THOUGHT he was going to get at V*cs either)

I for one amongst others will never sing a Graham Heathcote song after he called the fans wankers during the Lewes match at Moss Lane. Welcome to the club Damien.

More to the point, I guarantee that his wages will be in the bank when it's time to pay his bills.

A great signing, was a handful when he was at Farsley. Hope to see Reeves/Twiss with Johnson behind with Clee and Denham on the wings. Looking like an attacking force again, just need to get that midfield sorted now.

In fairness, some fans were being wankers that day. And the 'Cote was proved right by the way he's managed the team since despite calls for him to be sacked. And when did football fans get so precious as to be really upset by a passionate bloke getting undue stick making a wanker sign??

I seem to recall there were a couple of Heathcote songs at the immensely enjoyable but ultimately pointless away day at Chester...

There have been songs for Graham last season, waves etc.  You make it sound like a there is a ban on them Radcliffe Alty.

Not to my knowledge anyway  although it did take a while to repair the damage of that day for some people, and for some people it won't be repaired.

Its a free country, people can start any songs they like and people can choose to join in with which ever they like.

Anyway..Damian Reeves....

Welcome to the family. Nice that Youngy spoke to highly of us... Hope you do the well at this great and proud football club..

and let me echo Ecky's line ...

Its a free country, people can start any songs they like and people can choose to join in with which ever they like.

If people started songs and everyone ignored then there would be a point but I have never known that to happen.. Sing up next season...

This thread is odd to read. How optimistic we all were   :'(

Top scorer with 7 goals in 10 starts ?

That not good enough ?

Oh sorry, didn't mean about Reeves, think he's a good player, mean about the season in general.
