I would say this is surprising given they didn't have a penny to their name not long ago.But I'm not shocked in the slightest.

''It's difficult to find training facilities at the Glass World Stadium. At the moment we train on the pitch sometimes and we use several college pitches.'' - Here's an idea, just use the stadium as a training facility!!!

So that's Histon (average gate 849) and Gateshead (average gate 672) possibly going full time next season. Weird!!!

that is the most perverted reason yet for a club thinking of going full time.

Said it before...they have every right to follow whatever they think thet can afford, its the boards money (presuambly).  having said that if I was the local pie wallah it would be cash trade only with the club.

Let them try full time, it WILL end in tears.

From the Messenger..

"Altrincham Football Club have today announced that, due to the cost of the pitch at BTH going up by £4 per session from the start of next season, they will now go full time in order to save £4 each Thursday.  Some weeks, when there is no game, the saving could be as high as £8.."

to be fair, the main argument in the article suggested going full-time on the same wages. Apart from the fact the players won't do it, in principle at least, It is a good idea.

quote fromt the article;
"Very often full-time players get the same our players have been getting anyway. We think the players would be excited by it (going full-time). But then again a lot of them have jobs, so it's equally difficult for them to train during the day.

"The amount of money we pay them means they have to have further income. It's a balancing act and we've got to get it right."

huh? so you are paying full time wages for part time staff but if they go full time on the same wage they'd have to get another job and therefore go part time?

This extract alone shows they haven't got so much as an abacus.

and if they can get the league to schedule all their home matches for August/September and March/April they won't have to pay for floodlights either.

God it's SOOOO simple - It makes you wonder why no other club hasn't thought of this before ?...............
