Was that the year when somebody brought a model ship into the ground?

I remember one year "watching" Macc v Alty on ceefax a mid week game.  I was hoping for a point - it was 0-0 for 90 minutes, before flashing up "match postponed - frozen pitch"

April 1997, drew 1-1, With an attendance of 2,383 at the Moss Rose, wonder how many the next game would get.

Don't you count the Cheshire Senior Cup then!

I'd love a cup game with you lot. Be a great laugh.

As long as we stuck five past you!

We've only made one so far!

We've got a pretty decent squad already to be honest. We'd have finished last season much higher if we'd not had another tragedy.

All the younger players we've kept on are more experienced now, and none of the older ones are 'over the hill' (The oldest outfielder is 31 I think)

Bring in a half decent striker (or two if we sell Barnett) and we'll be in for a decent seaosn.

I have a couple of mates who are season ticket holders at macc and they are very pessimistic about the chances of the worst supported club in div 2 staying up, lack of money etc.
I have no idea myself, just what they've said to me, especially when you lose Barnett and having lost your best midfielder they said.

See you next season on BSP then ;D ;D ;D ;D

To be fair to Macc, I'm amazed that the milkmen have lasted in the league for 15 years on their gates and with their lack of cash. Considering some of the clubs much much bigger than them who've been relegated in the recent past. Still, only two down in a 24 team league does help, if that was the case we would have managed to stay up quite comfortably last season, odd thought that.

Same as every year then!

Losing Hamza was a bit of a blow because I think he will be immense next season. But we've won games without him over the last two years and it's all down to who we bring in as a replacement. Simmo found Hamza in Forest's reserves. I'm sure he can find a replacement.

Tyrone is another who would be a loss, but 250k would help and again, if Simmo found him playing for Hednesford, there will be other decent strikers out there.

We're set to go down every hear. Not happened yet!

Fewer relegation places doesn't hurt, but we finished well clear the last few years.

I think we've only finished in the bottom four a couple of times, and remember we had to fight against only one up to get here in the first place! (Rochdale robbing you lot being a tale of slightly more hardship...)

Dale fans are actually proud of their corrupt re election history.

I felt Macc would survive last season from the attitude of their fans at the pre seasob friendly. They thought they had a good side and manager from the ones I spoke to, I didn't particularly think they did but as we've written about elsewhere here mindset is key.

I think they've been helped by the fact that there always seems to be at least one or two financial basket cases or points deducted teams down there as well.

I don't think we've benefitted that much from the financial implosions of other clubs. Even when Rotherham, Luton and Bournemouth had deductions we managed to finish above two clubs without any deduction.

Last season we were well clear. It's not lke we've had to go to an AGM to survive!

Wasn't much pressure on you though that season is the point I was making.
