Altrincham FC First Team / The plot thickens....
« on: May 05, 2007, 05:21:14 PM »
So, our friends from Boston are relegated  ;D

Surely the reprieve is more possible now?

I did vote "unsure" in the reprive poll however this is surely on the cards now?

What is the rumours on the grapevine?

If Boston beat Wrexham and Macclesfield lose it will be goodbye Macclesfield. With all the anti Macclesfield feeling among Alty fans i'm surprised there are no comments on here about this real possibility. I get the feeling nobody expects it to happen, but surely you would all like to be there to watch it if it does happen? i'm going.

I think it has more to do with the fact that if we want a reprieve from relegation one of the only real hopes is if Boscum get relegated.

So it actually works quite well because the consolation could be Macc relegated.

Sadly missed by Sarf London Alty who carries carboard cut outs of them on Virgin trains up and down the country.

Me and the London boys are getting it up on Satd. As long as you get to Birmingham New Street, then you just change to a local service to Tamworth (should be loads from New Street) and its an easy 20 minute run. There's at least 5 trains between 12-2 on Satd from BNS to Tam. The station to ground at Tam is not far either, 10 mins tops.

I do hope you are not including me in this "London Boys" thing???

40 big ones!!

That seems rather expensive!!

Some new control gear and a bit of wiring!!

Who do I need to talk to at the Club to get a copy of the quote they have?

So what exactly do we need to do to bring the floodies up to scratch. I hear it was not just a matter of getting more lamps and more to do with the wiring etc? Can anybody get me the exact technical problems/requirements?

I can then make a few calls  ;)

First goal, we were at the opposite end of the ground, second goal, we were at the right end but in the opposite corner from were Bush took the corner. Weird set up at Weymouth, your stuck in a corner between the main stand and one of the goals. So there's no roof and for a large away support the view would be pretty crap. Esp weird in the 2nd half when it was completely empty behind the goal we were attacking, the local council/Police insist though I believe.

The other strange thing that I'm sure others (who bought a programme) must have noticed the match sponsor-which was the local lapdancing bar-had their full page spread in the programme opposite the photo of the 8 year old mascot in his Weymouth kit. Slightly unfortunate.

Did any of the Alty make it to Goldfingers this time?

Great link, cheers. It also answered a question we were musing over in the bar after the game.

Q: How the fook do Stafford have such a good away record?

A: Look at the two complete scabby goals they got at Weymouth on YouTube.

If we get a little luck like that over the next few games we CAN do it. Along with a little more Little!!

PS Sarf, I think your in to me for a score iirc.....

Well it's 9.35am train iirc so 9am sharp would seem apt.

So who has made it to our party? Seems there have been a number of "no shows"?

So super Joe is now our top scorer for the season!

What's the low down on his improvement, I hate to say it but I saw a couple of his early games and was NOT impressed. Sorry Joe!!

I think it was Telford in the FA Cup mid 80's. We lost one nil and Timmo had a perfectly good equaliser chalked off as the ref thought the ball had gone out of play. I was right next to it and it was still in.

We took two coaches iirc. Anyone confirm the date?
