The really worrying part of yesterday's debacle was that we made a VERY average Kidderminster side look competent. The degree to which Richman was missed in midfield is frightening - nobody else seemed able to put a foot in, make a real challenge for the ball, or simply compete. The way Simon plays means he's going to get some yellow cards in this league, particularly away from home, and might get two in a game as happened recently, but it's a risk we have to take in my view. Far too often we passed the ball out of play, or to red shirts, and Thompson's kicking from hand or from ground tends to test the resilience of stand seats or the roof more often than that of opposing defenders. On the plus side, Hemmings showed again that he has real quality, and at least the management have got the youth team keeper registered so we can have the essential cover on the bench. I'll be at Chester next Saturday - I don't like to miss Cup-ties & the walk alongside the canal is pleasant - but I'm not looking forward to the period between 3-5 p.m.
