Oxford and Torquay

What's happened to these two? They were fighting for promotion last season and this season they've only managed one win each and those against teams who are likely to struggle.

Stevenage are doing terrible. If they keep doing what they are they could get in to serious trouble by the end of the season!

We need to keep grinding out results as there are a No of full timers below us, which will probably improve over the coming weeks. 17th tonight and we need a couple of wins or we'll be in the bottom four again.

Agree that we need to pick up a couple of wins if only to give the team belief and confidence but I'd have settled for a point from the last two games and the Barrow defeat isn't looking so bad when you see their other results.

Eastbourne could be interesting as they could be up for it after their result on Monday, Salisbury and Histon seem to be flying. Then we have Stevenage and Lews. If they continue to struggle then we do need to get results in those two. A bit early to talk about six-pointers but those could be ...

Stevenage won't be in trouble at the end of the season.

I don't recall Oxford United "fighting for promotion last season."

They were distinctly mediocre and finished ninth.

Am I right in thinking Eastbourne have nothing from their home games so far? I think we should be very disappointed if we don't at least draw. I'm willing to write the Kiddy game off since whatever anyone says you're going to struggle when down to ten for so long, and in our other away game we were very good.

gazelle,

Actually, no they weren't.

That was the season before i.e. 2006/07.

To be honest I think it's a game we should be trying to win and that we should expect to win, or at least draw.

I will be dissapointed with a draw to be honest, especially after only taking 2 points out of a possible 9 at home thus far.

Eastbourne are an unkown quantity, they could be like Histon or Stafford, we can't know this early.

Their results so far tend to indicate they are a bit like us: capable of scoring goals but leaky at the back. If we can go down there and defend well (without being over-negative) I think we have a good chance.

It's a real six-pointer this one and hopefully we can carry Monday's good form forward!

Before we think of beating Oxford and Torquay i think we need our eyes fully on saturday. Lets hope we don't play Eastbourne like we played kettering and barrow and just batter them from the off.
