Altrincham FC First Team / Yeovil Match Thread
« on: October 11, 2021, 12:08:36 PM »
Same team unless Phil sees fit to rotate given the long midweek trip:

                    Thompson

Dens    Mullarkey    Hannigan    Senior

                 Moult     Pringle

    Mooney       Hancock        Kosylo

                      Dinanga

The scene of one of our more disappointing displays last season, but I think we played them when they were hitting good form.

Hoping for at least a draw this time round but the boys will know they're capable of winning.

COYR.

I see he scored on his debut for Chester yesterday.

I wonder if his injuries have cleared up...

Altrincham FC First Team / Triallists
« on: July 28, 2021, 02:13:28 PM »
Looks like we've boiled down to three from the initial bunch:

- David Fitzpatrick
- Ben Pringle
- James Berry

I wonder if we're still looking at Alex Brown? He looked pretty decent according to those that went to Ashton, but we won't be the only option he would have been considering.

Hope the above lads continue to impress and they like what they see from us.

His case has been dismissed and he's been awarded costs.

Really pleased for him, but it'll be a real uphill battle next season if we end up losing him too.

Altrincham FC First Team / Released players around the country
« on: May 12, 2021, 10:19:18 AM »
Some fan forums do great threads compiling release lists from all of the clubs, which make for interesting reads.

One that's caught my eye is Matty Warburton being released by Northampton - was on loan at Yeovil wasn't he.

I'm sure clubs at this level will be in for him.

Altrincham FC First Team / James Dean

Former Alty striker James Dean is currently missing and there's concerns for his welfare.

Hope the lad's OK.

Sign Danny Rowe. Flipping heck. Him and Asante up front...

Potential for us to loan someone else surplus to requirements?

Can I just say thanks to the club for putting on the insightful webinar - which included our two Muslim players, Yusifu Ceesay and Yoan Zouma - during the half-time break on Saturday. It was probably the most enjoyable part of the stream  ::)

Once again it makes me proud to call myself an Altrincham fan to see that we're such an inclusive, forward thinking club.

Ramadan Mubarak to Yusifu and Yoan.

...departs for an as-yet-unnamed National League club.

Couldn't be us rolling the dice again, could it?

Forced to retire, aged just 22, due to a heart condition diagnosed after falling ill during a game last month.

What desperately sad news for the poor lad, I hope he stays in the game and gets his coaching badges.

Cracking player from what I'd seen of him.

Altrincham FC First Team / New Home Kit

Just because the other thread was turning into a bit of a cesspit and I wanted to restore the excitement...

Can we expect something like the PSV template?

We could even keep the two stars...

Sky blue away kit is quite smart too, a bit different to what we've had recently.

Noticed the Guardian article suggesting North/South might start again with those that were outvoted.

Given there's going to be a lot of sorting out to do with teams potentially exiting this league (and being one short to begin with), they must be considering it as an option currently to refill the gaps?

I must say I'm utterly bemused how - no sooner had they seemingly got themselves sorted and heading in the right direction, they've adopted a silly business model - and a youth coach that's out of his depth.

I worry they might be a bit more sensible with their managerial appointment next time and look closer to home, but I think Parky would do well to swerve whatever setup they seem to have there at the moment.

It'll be interesting to see who ends up on their released list this season too. Can't see them going up now.

Altrincham FC First Team / Sat 6th Feb
« on: January 24, 2021, 08:51:28 AM »
After the Wealdstone game on Tuesday, we're not due to play again for a fortnight, with Wrexham on Tues 9th. That will be longer if Tuesday comes too soon for the pitch.

Sat 30th is our designated Macc fixture, so nobody else is available - but there's a few options for the FA Trophy weekend on the 6th when we were due to play Torquay.

Of all those available, Kings Lynn (H) is the only one due to be played on a Tuesday evening, perhaps the club will look at bringing this one forward?

I just want these lads to keep on playing at the moment!

Thank God we're away in the south again, looking at the weather forecast there's no way we would have got this game on at home (in fact, I'm sure we would have switched it).

They're going well in the league, but we looked like the National League team against similarly-placed Chester - so I'm confident of a decent result.
