Segregation - Southport
« on: February 04, 2011, 03:37:33 PM »

Im not sure how many of the Southport fans will be coming to Alty tomorrow but could the Officialdom at Alty please leave the popular side free for the Alty fans (ie Under the Camera Gantry) ..

It is a pain in the arse trying to watch the game when we are all stood in the Home end of the popular side...

If I remember right when we visited Haigh Avenue on a chilly windswept night back last August we were exposed to the elements behind the goal at the away  end plus it took an age to get served at the snack bar... I think the bloke was making the fkn pies to order.... ;)

Cheers

Fully agree,if they want cover then they can pay to sit down, otherwise the away terrace is their other option, much like our options at southport.Weve been soaked there on countless occasions, plus they shouldnt be aided by roof accoustics.....

Absolutely agree, if they want a roof let them pay to sit down, whats good for the goose is good for the gander.
Anyway hopefully we will need the space to accommodate all the new fans that will be coming.

Every game should be like this if seggregated - keep them in the AWAY end

Always found we are 'too nice' as a club when we accommodate people in a covered area. Like Hughesy said we have been soaked in Southport before so sod 'em... Where as if Exeterr played us again then I'd allow them cover as they did likewise.

Surely treat others how they treat you ?

Hear, hear!

Leave them out in the rain.

We've suffered plenty of drenchings at Southport over the years.

Mind you, that enduring image of the water splashing off the vibrating crossbar at Haig Avenue after Mike Carmody's stunning late 30-yard piledriver had won the match for us there back in September 1995 will live long in the memory...!

Rain or otherwise, like Distance Traveller says it is very annoying to have to watch the game from the 'home' end of the popside....view is too obstructed

Quite agree.  Leave them out there with there songs and shouts driftng  up Moss Lane

I can't think of Southport with thinking of Paul Frances late winner in the FA Cup.  Remember clear as day falling to my knees celebrating whilst everyone else was busy crushing people at the front.

In fairness I'm not sure that tea and coke would taste that great anywhere.
