Good decision. When times are hard we need the players to stick together and give everything for the club, not disrupt team spirit by wandering off to play for some Mickey Mouse country thousands of miles away.

So Baldrick. let's get this right.

You would decline the chance to represent your country to sit on the bench for a club to whom you are not contracted and who could release you at any time (as has just been proven)

Could you let me know what you've been drinking please as I think I'd like a gallon

The principal reasons for his departure given by GH at last night's meeting were:

(i) Berkeley's disappointing display/attitude as a sub at Witton on Tuesday;

(ii) He was 'living on a different planet' to GH!

Nobody gets sacked because of one poor performance from the subs bench. He was sacked because he is no better than the players already contracted to the club and he would rather play in a meaningless under 23 game than stay and try to earn a contract at Altrincham.

Which "contracted" players do you mean?

Berkeley is no better than Lawton, Potts, Logan, Sedgemore or any of the others whose place he could have challenged for.

If England offered you the chance to play in an under 23 international would you consider it to be meaningless?

You're talking a load of horse manure.

How can you compare England to St. Kitts? Berkeley had a chance to stay and earn a contract but he was not interested. The club needs players who want to play for Altrincham. Look at the disgraceful way Pottsy is left on the bench every week. He stays and does his best when he is given a chance. When money is in short supply contracts have to be given to players who deserve them. Pottsy deserves a contract, Berkeley doesn't. Graham made the right decision.

How can I compare England to St Kitts? Well they're both FIFA recognised countries aren't they?

Have I turned over two pages here? Since when have we started offering contracts to players?

to you st kitts isn't important but to someone who represents them they will feel the same as any one (appart from gaz) who puts on the three lions. for me it makes no diffrence, what GH said was that for him matty berkley wasn't on the same planet as him and when he came on against witton he didn't show enough hunger for the game.
