Taking nothing away from a suburb away win...

But bloody hell, they were so poor, and i'd say without wholesale changes theyll be joining chester and 2 others through the trap door.we did more than enough to warrent 3 points and it could and should have been put to bed by halftime, brilliant team effort on the road with special mentions for kearney and denham who were both outstanding.the midfield signings have turned out to be a management masterstroke so far, lets see how far we have really moved on against histon and try and better the usual 0-1 defeat!

They were terrible, I'm used to Hayes sides that are fast, quick passing, with big black lads up front who are a real handful. How did they hold Stevenage?

I thought we did ok, with a sniff more luck and a better day for Chris Senior plus the penalty we could be basking here on the back of a four or five goal win.

In fairness to Chris, his first one when through he stretched to take in my opinion an intelligent touch rather than letting it bounce as the ball would have spun away.

I hope the injuries are short term and hope especially that Heff's hospital trip was a sensible precaution. At least he walked to the ambulance.

Here's to being second in the league tonight, great stuff.

Col's goal I'd like to add was real quality, great turn.

We looked a class above Hayes today and although they were poor we continued to play good, attractive, skillful football where in previous seasons teams like Lewis, Farsley and Barrow have been able to drag us down to their level. We were much better in the first half and the game would have been over if Doughty had put away the Pen, which wasnt that badly taken. We seem to let them into the game in the second half. However Senior could have had a hat-trick. Colin's goal was superb. A fair score would have been 3 or 4-0. Downside is the injuries we picked up. Denham was magnificent today, ran for everything and our midfield look classy. Hope we can nulify Histon's tactics in the same way. I predict Hayes will go down along with Gateshead, FGR and Eastbourne (assuming Chester win their appeal against -25 points). Pity we conceded a goal in time added on as to be top would have been nice if only for a few days.

Another rather amusing moment today was listening to two Hayes supporters at the bus stop opposite discussing how they really should have won the game!  ::)

Hayes & Yeading were poor. However, we kept the ball extremely well at times and bossed it for long periods.

One important factor was the manner in which we started the game - positive from the outset and put the opposition straight on the back foot.

Well done to all the lads today and to GH & KM for doing a great job up to now.  :)

My first game of the season today and like the first game down south last year (Woking) I'm sure I've seen a team that's going to go down and it wasn't us!

I thought we looked good throughout the team although we seemed very slow in the second half, I'll put it down to the hot muggy weather and the lack of decent oposition to inspire anything in the second half.

How small was that crowd?  We must have had a quarter of the crowd for a game inside the M25, they are really going to stuggle.

Looking forward to Kiddy.

Amazed at how little support they had, I was surprised to see the 600+ gate v Satanage but expected more from them on a sunny Saturday. Plenty of theirs had Brentford shirts on too!!

401 for a BSP game!, my reckoning we had 100+ there.
