World's rudest newspaper! I can only assume their sports reporter is one of those plebs who chant basic things at the opposition before they even get behind their own team.

He certainly has no idea what he's on about!

I too was particularly riled after reading that.

Not sure which ageing journeyman we have had. Journeyman implies to me hundreds of clubs, perhaps they were talking of Meech.

As the famous Jeremy Arnold (Arnie) said; 'Id rather watch Alty than a club named after a train station anyday'

Pure Southern scum that lot.

The best thing to come out of Gravesend is the A227.

This is what the paper said

No doubt we have a long campaign ahead of us and such youthful players may initially struggle to find their feet in the presence of gnarly old goats like Cambridge's Wayne Hatswell or experienced workhorses like Paul Carden... I'd much sooner watch the talents on display thus far than the kind of desperate football played with ageing journeymen that sides like Altrincham, Lewes, Southport and Stafford have put on in the past. This team can only get better and the players have undeniable talent".

Gravesend..................Nice place to come from; not a vey nice place to go to.

Not worth getting upset about. It was probably written by a Kent based Manchester United fan to fill a few spare columns in a paper nobody reads.

I'd love to see us employ a squad full of young full time professional footballers on full time wages on crowds of barely a thousand.

Unless it means having to turn our club into one of the most embarrassing jokes in football (twice) like!
